Increase Blog Traffic in 3 Easy Steps

By Justin Wright

So you write a really great article and post it on your blog, only to find out that no one has read it! Does this sound like you?

This is why generating traffic is so important. Unfortunately, it is the hardest thing for any blogger or webmaster to do. Without traffic, your blog has no chance at surviving on the internet. It will get buried with all of the other blogs that get little to no traffic. This is why most bloggers give up within two months are starting.

So How Do You Increase Traffic?

Here are three tips that will easily help generate more traffic to your blog:

1. Comment On Other Blogs

This is by far the easiest but beneficial way to increase your traffic. By commenting on other blogs, you not only engage another blogger but also put a link out there for other people to find you. Usually, a blogger will visit each site that someone leaves when they comment as a way of saying thanks.

If you leave a really good comment (which I recommend), many readers of the blog will also follow your link to see who your are and what your blog is about. So remember, leave relative comments and never spam. Bloggers never like receiving comments that say "Hey nice blog."

2. Trade Links With Other Blogs

Another way to get more traffic is by generating backlinks. This will not only increase your direct traffic, but will also increase your traffic from search engines like Google. There are many ways to trade or generate backlinks and they are all effective in different ways.

To start out, I would encourage you to find other blogs related to yours as contact them about swapping links. This could be as simple as putting each other on your blogrolls and linking to one another. This is a great way to get relevant links to your blog.

3. Use The Power of Forums

Forums are one of the most beneficial things to spend your time doing. You will learn more about internet marketing and how to increase your search engine rankings.

If learning and getting tips wasn't enough, you can also place links in your signature. That way every time you make a post in a forum, you have a link at the bottom that points to your website. This can also help get readers to find your blog. Now that you have an idea on how to start boosting traffic, get to work!
