How to Increase the Web Traffic to Your Blog

By Tracey A Edwards

Looking to increase the web traffic to your blog? Then look no further than this article which will show you some great tips for getting more visitors to your site. Trying to stand out from the crowd of the millions of other blogs is hard enough so you need to have an edge over the competition and so try these simple methods that you can implement to start seeing a surge in traffic today.

Links to Your Blog

The best way to get lots of targeted traffic to your blog is by making good use of your blogroll. Your blogroll is where you put links to other blogs that you like and hopefully they will do the same for you. Do a search for blogs that are in your niche and see if there is anyway to contact the owner of that blog. Sometimes there isn't any contact details so you'll just have to make a comment. Then add their web address to your blogroll. Tell them that you have linked to them and ask if they would like to link back to you. Most of the time they will be happy to oblige and add your blog address to their blogroll.

The more incoming links that you have from other blogs the better it is to drive targeted traffic as when people visit their blogs they might click on the link to visit your blog as well. And as an added bonus the more incoming links you have to your blog the better you will get ranked in the search engines.

Commenting on Other Blogs

If you don't wish to use the blogroll feature then you can just find similar blogs to yours and leave comments about the post itself making sure to leave your website address in your comment. If your comment provides value or is interesting enough other people reading them will likely click through to your blog to see what else you have to say.

Tagging Your Posts

Each time you make a new post take a few extra seconds to fill in the tags to your blog posts. Tags really increase the web traffic to your blog as search engines use them to help determine what your post is about. It's a good idea to use at least three tags and I've always found that using one well searched for broad keyword, and two long tail keyphrase's with less competition work the best for getting targeted traffic and ranking well in the SERPS.

How Much Money Can You Make From a Free Blogger Blog?

By Tracey A Edwards

With all the dollar figures thrown around, and claims of people making hundreds of dollars a day by blogging you can be forgiven for thinking that they only people making money from this is those trying to sell their eBooks on the subject. The truth is that it is possible to make money blogging but it won't happen overnight and you will need to put some effort in. So how much money can you make from using a free Blogger blog?

I usually recommend that beginners to blogging start out using Google's own Blogger service (just head to Blogger.com to get your account) because it's super easy to get started and many of the monetization features such as adding AdSense are already built into the system. Once you become more efficient then you can move up to hosting your own blog using Wordpress and have your own domain name as well - but Wordpress is a little more advanced and can sometimes be a little tricky if you don't know what you are doing.

So starting with a Blogger blog is a great way to dip your toe in the water so to speak.

The amount of money that you can make really depends on two main things. The subject matter of your blog and also how much traffic you can get to it, so let's look at these two in more detail so you can get an idea of what's possible.

Firstly there is no denying that some subjects are easier to make money from than others. But that doesn't mean that you shouldn't write about your passion if that's what you want to do. Many hobby blogs do extremely well financially because there isn't as much competition for the topic as there is for something like a weight loss blog which competes with millions of other similar sites. The real key is rather how useful, interesting or topical your posts are - if people keep returning to see what you are going to write next, or to get more ideas for their project then you know that you have a winning subject.

Once you start getting people visit your blog it's time to start adding the monetization features to it. Obviously the easiest way is to add AdSense to your blog because it's just a matter of adding that Gadget to your layout (under the Layout tab > Add A Gadget link) to wherever you want the ads to display (you'll need an AdSense account first but you can apply right from inside the Blogger AdSense gadget). But AdSense ads usually don't pay that much (usually only around 10 cents a click or so).

So it's always a good idea to start looking at money ideas that pay much higher commissions such as affiliate programs or even selling your own products.

Earn Part Time Income From a Free Blogger Blog

By Tracey A Edwards

As everything starts to get more expensive and the economy begins to get shaky more and more people are looking for part time jobs or extra money to help the family finances. One of my favorite ways of earning part time income is by blogging and you can even do this with a free Blogger blog.

Blogging has become such a phenomenon with now millions of blogs on various topics written by everyone from top businesses to your next door neighbor and the reason for this is that they are so easy to get started and earn some extra money from. This article will show you some simple tips that you can do today to start earning some cash using Blogger.

The first thing you need to do is to head over to Blogger.com and sign up for an account. You might already have an account with Google (such as a gmail account) and then all you need to do is click the orange arrow to get started now, otherwise fill in the registration page to open your account.

Name your blog whatever you like, although it's always a good idea to name it something related to the topic that you are going to write about. Choose a template (how you want your blog to look) and press go. Now you are ready to start writing to your blog.

You can write about anything you like, but if your goal is to make some money (and it probably is since you are reading this article) then the best blogs usually provide interesting and informative opinions on topical subjects. You can write about the election, or your favorite TV show (there is one blog about the TV Show Lost that rakes in thousands of dollars a month), or your current hobby. Hobby blogs actually do quite well as their usually isn't much competition and lots of other people are looking for ideas for their own projects. So if you make teddy bears put up some patterns or tips and you'll start seeing lots of visitors.

Once you start seeing people visit your blog (this usually takes a few weeks while it gets listed in the search engines), then you can start to monetize your blog. Try and think about the sorts of things that people that read your blog would be interested in. You can become an affiliate for places like Amazon and then make recommendations for products that would help your readers. As long as it is related to your blog then you are likely to get a few buyers (and you'll make a commission).

It really is easy to start earning part time income from a free Blogger blog so don't delay and get writing.

Using Blogging to Advertise Your Business

By Mark A. Abrahams

One of the ways that people have found to use blogging to their advantage when they are trying to advertise their company is that they are offering special deals on their blogs. Here are some suggestions on how you can do the same.

Sales

One of the ways that a company can use a blog to advertise their business is to advertise their sales on their blogs. The people who see their blogs may not know about the special sales and they are going to be brought in by the idea of saving money on the products.

Coupon codes

Another way that a company can use a blog is to offer special coupon codes right there on the blog. This is a great way to let people know about the business but it's also a great way that a company can track how many people are coming to their website through their blog.

Contest

The last way that a company can use a blog to advertise their business is to have a contest right there on their blog. Again, this is a great way that people can find out how many people are coming to their website because of their blog.

Polls

The last way that a company can use blogging for their company is to create polls. This is the best way that a company can do market research and find out what people are looking for.

Using blogging to advertise a company has a lot of advantages and the ideas that are listed above are only some of the ways that a company can use the blog to advertise their company.

Blogging Communities - Find Your Niche Here

By Mark A. Abrahams

A lot of people know that blogging is a great way that they can stay in touch with people that they know, but a lot of people don't know that blogging is also a great way to let people know about the products and services that they have to offer. One of the best ways that you can reach targeted people through your blog is to join blogging communities.

Niche

When you are looking for blogging communities, look for different niches that your business might fall into. For example, you can join a small business community to start out with. If you sell children's toys, look for blogging communities that have to do with them.

Watch the rules

Something that you should do when you have joined a blogging community is to watch the rules that they have for posting. The last thing that you want to do is to upset people because you posted something on the wrong day.

Network

The last thing that you can do with blogging communities is network with other people. You may find that they have things to offer that you want and that you have things to offer that they want. You can exchange website addresses and help one another out.

Blogging communities are something that a lot of people have found to be useful when they are advertising their business on their blog. They are something that can help you find your niche and find others that you can set up a link exchange with.

Blogging Software Builds Websites Quickly

By John Mcdonald

Blogging software is one of the most popular ways to build websites - and a large part of this popularity is how quickly and easily new blogs can be created. What the software does is help publishers organize new posts and pages around a centralized visual theme and the domain's internal linking structures.

Starting a new blog can be as easy as signing up for an account with Blogger or Wordpress. These software providers also offer free hosting services, so you literally won't need anything else to begin blogging. There are some downsides and limitations involved with free hosting, so the blogging software can also be uploaded and installed on a shared or private server. Installation is fairly simple, even easy for non-technical webmasters to accomplish quickly. Wordpress offers a "famous five-minute install" that is as simple as uploading a file, unzipping it, and running a script to synchronize the software to the database.

Once the blog website is installed, changing the visual design is as easy as finding one you like online and uploading the zipped file to the appropriate directory. Once the theme is uploaded, it only needs to be unzipped and chosen from inside the Wordpress administration screen. Some premium themes cost a little money, but there are also thousands of free ones available to choose from.

New pages or posts can be written as easily as one fills out a web-based email form or word processing document - and with just a few clicks this content can be put online and published. The administration panel is completely web-based, so if you have used a web-based email form you would instantly recognize the way it functions.

There are very few downsides to building websites with blogging software - yet it remains one of the easiest ways to do so and anything you don't like about the default settings can usually be customized.

Monetizing Your Blog - And Keep Total Control

By Gregg Brown

The main task for many people who want to write and create their own blog is to make some money from it at the same time. You can become known as an expert on a particular subject that you love by writing a blog regularly, but there is nothing sweeter than earning revenue from it as well.

Some people choose to sign up with a service that pays them for their blog posts if they write about certain services or products in a positive way. Other people don't like using this type of service though as it means they cannot be as objective as they would like to be.

If you want to write truthfully and keep total control over your blog then your best bet is to use contextual advertising, such as Google AdSense or text links of various types. Contextual ads mean that if your blog is about tropical fish then your ads will be related to that subject as well.

You can also find affiliate products and links that will enable you to earn money for recommending services and products to your readers. Again, these should be related to the subject of your blog - and you will usually find that you get a high click through and take up rate for this kind of monetization.

The main thing to remember is that what you write will always be paramount. Don't be tempted to fill your blog with links, recommendations and sales patter, because people will assume your main purpose of writing a blog is to make money from it. That may well be true but you need to offer real value and real content for free, to keep people coming back to read everything you write. And that will bring traffic. The more traffic the more ad revenue, whether it's Google Adsence or selling ad space to advertisers, it's all based people liking your content.

You also need to make sure that your blog is configured for SEO, this is very important so that your good content will get indexed by the search engines.

In the end while monetizing a blog to bring in an income is a big goal of many bloggers, you should always think of your readers above everything else. If you do that you will find your blog can really take off and bring you more regular readers, traffic and money than you might have thought.

Dominate an Online Niche With a Blog Business

By Gregg Brown

Internet gurus know how profitable niche marketing is. They create keyword content websites and use article marketing to drive highly targeted traffic to their sites. They run campaigns on Google AdWords to corner the market for their specific keyword niche. This can get expensive, but it doesn't have to be. You can dominate an online niche with a blog business.

Blogging is one of the most popular forms of expression on the internet. Millions of people blog every week, but not all of them know it is possible to turn a blog into a money-making machine.

To make the most money as easily as possible, you have target a very specific niche. The goal is to be in the top three search results on Google for a particular long-tail keyword phrase that gets enough searches per month to make money.

Methods for Choosing a Profitable Niche

The first step in dominating a niche market is to find a keyword phrase that gets enough searches per month to be profitable. It also has to have limited competition in Google and other large search engines. You can use a keyword research tool such as Wordtracker or Google AdWords to search for keyword phrases. The more searches the phrase gets per month, the better. However, understand that those with more searches usually have more search engine results.

After choosing several likely looking keyword phrases for your niche, search for them in Google and see how much competition there is. Ideally, your keyword should have less than two thousand results. The less competition, the more profit you can make.

After finding the perfect keyword phrase or phrases focused on one topic niche, it is time to start a blog. The keyword phrase should be the focus of your blog. Use it in the title, the description, picture captions, and blog posts.

Do not go overboard, however. Using the keyword phrase too often on your page can cause your blog to be deemed spam. Never hide keywords. Include them naturally in the quality content you will attract readers and subscribers with.

Blogs make it easy to dominate a niche online. Once you have your blog up and running with optimal niche keywords, it is time to make some money. Do not stuff your blog with ads. Contextual advertising such as Google AdSense is a popular way to make money with blogs. Recommending a few affiliate products or offering your own products for sale is ideal.

Blogs can lead you to huge profits when you learn about dominating niche markets online. Since success on the internet is all about getting targeted traffic, focusing on a specific niche is ideal. Engage in some quality internet marketing such as article submission, and you will make money with ease.

What the Heck is a Blog Anyway?

By Nancy Stuart

If you are new to the online marketing scene you can learn how to implement

the web 2.0 technology of Blog Platforms into your personal branding marketing campaigns and watch your business take off.

What is a BLOG anyway? Take the words "Web" + "log" = "Blog".

A blog is, in the case for this article, is textual in content and is an online interactive journal used to build relationships between you and your potential and existing clients.

Blogs have been around the internet since 1999 and have been reshaping the worlds of journalism, politics, music, art, videos, audios, photographs, and text Just to name a few. A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, web pages, and other media

related to its topic.

Two of the more common blog platforms; "Hosted" & "Stand Alone".

Hosted blog platforms are free to post to, easy to implement, easy to use, and are indexed to the Search Engines rather quickly. A few of the more common hosted blogs being used by us are: blogger.com, myspace.com, and wordpress.com.

Stand Alone blog platforms are also free to post to, however, there is a fee for the domain name and there is also a blog hosting fee. There is a little more flexibility with the stand alone blog platform in that the domain name of the blog can also be the same as the company domain name for ease of use by existing and potential clients. The design of this type of blog is up to you as the website owner as opposed to a hosted blog which is generally made from a template. A couple of the stand alone blogs examples are: wordpress.org (currently #1 on the blog spot list of the top 50) and problogger.net.

We encourage you as Online Marketing Education students to study the 2 blog platforms carefully before implementing them into your online marketing campaigns as each has its' place and serves a different purpose. We stress the importance of utilizing as many of the web 2.0 technology platforms as

possible to get your messages out to the world wide web audience who are looking to you as the experts for their products and services.

Travel Writing - How to Make Money Blogging About Your Travels

By John Beede

Have you ever wanted to travel the world and make money for sharing your adventures with the world? Using the web and a simple blog, this couldn't be easier. There are just a few simple, yet hidden techniques for making a healthy income for blogging about your travels.

In fact, the number of underground travelers who hold no jobs, yet make cash for writing about their travels is growing by the day. We keep our mouths shut about our techniques as we visit worldwide destinations and get paid for telling the world about it. I know there have got to be great people out there who deserve to travel and want this information, so I've decided to share a few of our techniques:

1) Own Your Blog. Sites like Blogger, Myspace, and BlogSpot are no good for our purposes, because you can't tweak the site to make a profit very easily. Instead, if you buy a domain for 10 bucks and then install Wordpress, you now have the platform to make it extremely profitable.

2) Utilize PPC (pay-per-click) to get started. You won't make a massive income off of this right away, but you can easily make 5-10 bucks a day in the beginning. That may not sound like a lot... but it's enough for a meal every day or a flight after a month, and the number only gets bigger as your blog grows in readership.

3) Collect names and email addresses. You want to do this so that you can bring your readers back to your blog. Very few people 'bookmark' a site any longer, but if you email your readers every time you post a new article, you will grow your readership at an exponential rate.

4) Offer an RSS (Real Simple Syndication) subscriptions. Don't let this intimidate you. Setting this up is as simple as checking a box on your blog's options. RSS is another way for your readers to keep up-to-date with your blog. Insead of you emailing them, their RSS reader of choice will automatically show them the newly posted content. The more they see your content, the better chance they'll click on an ad (and therefore, the better chance you'll get paid)

5) Sell a product that will interest your readers. Once you are up and running, you will see your readership growing as well. Now it's time to really monetize your site. This is where affiliate marketing comes in. This is simply taking a commission for any customer you send to another product (considering they buy the product). So, every now and again, make a blog post about the affiliate product you are promoting. When your readers see this, those who are interested will click on your 'affiliate link,' and if they buy, you get paid. Easy as that. Becoming an affiliate is always free, and there are thousands of products begging for active affiliates.

By the way, affiliate commissions are typically 50% to 75%. Gigantic, and very profitable.

6) Create your own product. The only problem with affiliate marketing is that the product is completely out of your control and you only take a part of the cut. Once you have a bunch of blog posts, you can bundle them together and make an 'ebook.' Sell this to your loyal readers, and you'll be surprised at how many of them will pay for the content they're getting for free anyway!

There are bloggers out there who are making hundreds of thousands of dollars a year for writing about their passions. My instincts tell me you'd be happy with a few hundred or thousand dollars extra per week, so start taking action on these ideas. They're not complicated, they just require action. The best part is, once they're set up, they can all be automated and can take place without your presence!

Blogger - The Last Man Standing!

By Albert Hallado

Man! it's seems really bad everywhere I mean, here in the US the President gave a speech yesterday about rescuing the big financial institutions that are failing and people are losing their houses, losing jobs left and right. Gas prices are up, the cost of food is up too.

Many people are really feeling the pain even a few of my subscribers emailed me saying that they would love to buy my product but either they have to wait till pay day or they need to save so they can buy it! This really hurts me I know how it feels, I was born and raised in the Philippines and I've seen poverty first hand and I never thought it would happen here in the US (Las Vegas). I know for some it's really hard but hang in there guys and keep pressing forward we're going to make it through this.

Well here's how can I help by telling you to start blogging and make money with it so you can get extra cash, it's not rocket science on blogging and there's no huge investment either.

Here's how you can make money with your blog, you can put AdSense with your blog, promote affiliate programs, sell your own product or services, if you don't have your own products sell PLR (Private Label Rights) that you can brand and put your name on it.

I know it's tough right now but like what I said you just need to keep pressing forward and no more excuses. Even if you have to skip McDonalds or set aside 5 bucks a day till you have enough to pay what you need so you can start blogging please do so, you have to remember this is for you.

I've only been blogging a year and with my blog I've been able to make living and if I can do this anyone can. One thing with blogging is you have Job Security no one will fire you, no one will tell you to do this do that.

If you just keep your blog's momentum and drive "Laser Targeted Traffic" you too can make a living with your blog and even in tough times like this you'll make it and you'll be the last man standing!
