Why Will Blogging Build Your Business?

By Leslie Gilmore

Blogging has taken off like wildfire! People are blogging about just about every subject under the sun - from the daily grind of their jobs - to politics - to creating the perfect garden. Chances are if you are looking for information on any topic, you can find it in a blog.

The most important thing you can do is develop the right mindset about business blogging. By keeping in contact with potential customers and clients through blogging on a regular basis, people will begin to know the essence of who you are from your blog posts. You will attract people to you and your business simply by being who you are.

Think about it... Don't you like to do business with people you like and trust? Don't you like it when you have things in common with other people? Isn't it an amazing feeling when you find people with similar values and interests?

By letting people get to know you and your business through your blog posts, you establish a commonality with your readers. Once the relationship is established, the business with follow.

Like most things, getting started is the hardest part. After you have completed the initial set up of your blog, the ideas will flow. Like life, when it comes to blogging, it is people and personal communication that matter most and should always be at the center of all your thoughts, strategies and actions.

Blogging is just a vehicle. But, it is a vehicle that can and should become a driving force of your business generation.

Why? Because it exponentially multiplies the world's oldest, most-favored and trusted form of advertising - word of mouth.

Just ask yourself where do you go for advice, recommendations, and information about opportunities, purchases, or choices? You ask someone you know and trust, right?

Trust comes from personal communication, social interaction, and the coming together of like-minded individuals. Remember, like attracts like. You will attract people simply by being you.

Blogging simply magnifies and expands that sense of community and more personalized communication, and then expands your reach across the entire world.

It is the relationship that matters most. Focus on that and you'll always have the right mindset for business blogging that is a benefit for you and your readers.

How Does Firepow Blogging Software Work?

    By Jeff Truman

This report will focus on the Firepow Blogging Software, a subscription based internet marketing system promoted by Andrew Hansen of Australia. The various details of Firepow, including its features, benefits and the nuts and bolts of how it works will be analyzed and, it is hoped, a potential subscriber will learn enough about the program to be able to make up his or her mind about whether it would be a useful and profitable investment as part of their internet marketing toolbox.

For several years now the internet marketing community has known that one can make a good deal of money online by setting up a blog, using it to attract natural traffic, that is traffic that you do not have to pay to get, and then profiting by earning commissions on sales of affiliate products or by earning revenue by placing pay per click advertisements.

As this process becomes more and more refined, various experts in the field have created and marketed information products, software and other systems to make it easier for someone else to succeed in the realm of internet marketing.

Andrew Hansen previously offered programs called "Niche Marketing on Crack" and "Plug and Play Niche Marketing" prior to his introduction in the summer of 2008 of Firepow. Unlike the previous two systems which were basically informational products, Firepow is a much more elaborate membership site for which one pays a monthly subscription fee and then gets access to a wide range of tools.

One of the most important factors in building a profitable blog is to build it on the right kind of a niche and to pick the best set of keywords to use in optimizing one's blog so it will gain a high rank among internet search engines. Firepow makes this process very easy by making available to its members ready made databases of keywords that even include details of an affiliate product. During the month of August, 2008, 14 different niches were made available via the Firepow forum, and similar niches are expected to be added in successive months.

Firepow greatly automates and simplifies the process by which WordPress blogs are installed and configured, and plugins are activated. To make the process even simpler, Firepow even can supply a hosting service at no extra charge, leaving the webmaster having only to invest the domain registration fee which, in most cases, is under ten dollars per year.

One of the most unusual features of Firepow is that they have more than 100 different blogs and high page rank websites on which subscribers can post short articles in order to gain the valuable back links that help raise the profile and profitability of a new blog by generating traffic. Some Firepow users have reported that, in less than one week, their newly born websites have achieved page one search engine status for their primary keywords.

More details about how Firepow works are on Jeff Truman's website, tellthebosstogetlost.com. Mr. Truman also writes product reviews and reports for the reportsandreviews.info website.

Powerful Tips For Generating More Traffic to Your Blog

    By Gregg Gillies

Do you want more traffic to your site or blog? I'm guessing you do because I don't know anyone who says they get too much traffic. I think that's a problem we'd all like to have. There is a lot of SEO advice out there. It's easy to suffer paralysis by analysis, get overwhelmed and not do anything.

But there are simple SEO strategies you can put in place to generate more traffic to your blog. The most powerful factor to high search engine rankings and lots of traffic is inbound links to your site.

Most credible SEO experts will tell you that nowadays (especially with Google) inbound links pointing toward your site or blog is probably the biggest thing you can do for climbing up the search engines.

The most influential and powerful inbound links:

    • Come from highly ranked authority sites
    • Highly relevant to the topic of your site or blog
    • Use relevant and searched-for keywords in the link anchor text

Of course, a lot of aspects of linking isn't within your control.

However, a lot more about link building IS in control compared to just a few years ago. This is because many web 2.0 sites are considered highly ranked authority sites by the search engines. And with a lot of those sites YOU can generate your own links with your own keyword-rich anchor text.

    I'm talking about sites like:

    • Squidoo
    • Wordpress.com
    • Blogger.com
    • Digg
    • Propeller
    • MyBlogLog

There are plenty more web 2.0 sites like this out there and many smaller one's that are specific to certain niches. A key to getting quality links (and traffic) from sites like Digg or Propeller is to include high quality content on your own site or blog.

Here are some things you can do to start getting some quality inbound links to your site.

    • Put valuable content on your own site.

This is absolutely the best place to start when you put together a linking campaign.

Without quality content on your site, no one is going to want to link to it.

    • Use Remote Content Sites.

Here, I'm talking about creating content on other web 2.0 properties such as Squidoo, Hub Pages, Xanga, Wordpress.com and Blogger.

You can then interlink these properties together ton enhance your site's search engine rankings and authority in the eyes of the search engines.

Starting out with an aggressive linking campaign using these basic linking strategies will go a long way toward improving your search engine rankings and generate more traffic to your blog or web site.

Using Blogs to Increase Your Sales

    By Fransesco Ronnie

There is no doubt that blogging is becoming a big business, but this not simply because of the amount of people out there looking for a place to rant-though that is part of it! The use of blogs is big amongst those in business because it's an effective way to market and it is proven to increase traffic thanks to helping your company's site rise in the rankings of search engines like Google, Yahoo, etc.

Blogs can be used in several ways when it comes to marketing. You should create one of your own; this can be done either on another page on your own website or by enlisting the services of one of the blog hosts out there such as Wordpress or Blogger. Blogs can be created on sites like this for free, though you can purchase the option of better packages and services. Once you have set up your blog, it's time to create! This is often used as a slightly less formal compliment to your site, so rather than filling it with technical jargon and products, you write about things of interest to your customers. Things like articles on helpful topics, interesting facts, industry news; these are all things that would be ideal for a blog. Make sure to use relevant keywords and include several links to your main website or homepage as well.

Another great way to use blogs to increase your sales thanks to upping the amount of traffic you get is to create a link list. This is simply done by contacting bloggers of sites that are somehow related to your line of business and requesting a link exchange. You add a link to their blog on your blog and they do the same for you. This opens you up to traffic from their site-a.k.a. a new audience-while your visitors get to enjoy the helpful links that you have added. See, blogging is not only fun, but quite effective! Make Money With Your Free Blog

    By Fransesco Ronnie

Blogging has become an incredibly popular hobby for many. While there are those who blog to advertise their business; the majority of blogs are written by regular people who start a free blog just for fun. Thanks to affiliate opportunities though; people who blog as a hobby can easily earn a little pocket money-if not more!

Becoming an affiliate entails no more than allowing a site to place a link banner ad on your blog. The way the money is made is usually on a 'pay-per-click' basis, meaning that anytime one of your readers clicks on that ad, you earn a few cents. A few cents may not seem like much, but you wouldn't throw away money! The goal then becomes to try and get as many clicks as possible. This doesn't mean clocking away yourself as that is actually not allowed, but, by choosing to be affiliated with sites that would be of interest to any of your friends or readers; you are increasing the chance that people will click on the ad. To sweeten the deal; you can sign up for as many affiliate programs as you like!

Affiliate programs offer a lot of flexibility to in terms of what types of ads you can choose from so that you can find ones that are aesthetically pleasing with your blogs theme or color scheme. And since people tend to be drawn to attractive things; this can work in your favor as well if you take the time to look at all of the link banner ads they have to choose from.

One final tip when it comes to choosing your affiliate program; beware of ads or services that can be of offense to your readers. For instance, if your blog is dedicated to writing children's stories; a link to a site containing X-rated material would be a VERY bad choice! A little common sense here will go a long way.

The ever-evolving blogosphere is naturally attracting search engine traffic. Optimizing your blog is vital in order to increase traffic to your blog. Compare the architecture and other features of popular blogs and then incorporate essential features and aspects in order extract most from your blog, especially in terms of traffic.

Writing Title Tags can increase search engine traffic to your blog

Ensure that the title tags are relevant to the topic, short, catchy, impressive and pithy. This is done in order to drive targeted traffic to your blog or for readers who have a subscription to your feed. After writing the post, do a few keyword searches for the topic discussed. This would give you a general idea of the words or phrases that are popular on search engines.

    Break the conventions and evolve

The ultimate aim of any quality blog is to offer vital and valuable information and subsequently increase traffic to your blog. Make your blog as interesting as possible and think of going beyond texts. You don't want your blog to be home to magniloquent manuscripts or just plain text, as this alone cannot grip the audience. Try to incorporate interactive elements like multimedia content, images or charts, audio/video etc. You can also include text formatting elements like bullets; icons etc and thereby make it more visually appealing and expressive.

The bottom line is that when you offer highly informative and reliable information and content to readers and optimize your blog properly, you are guaranteed to increase traffic to your blog.

Make Money Blogging - I'm Not Convinced!

    By Diane Foster

The internet is flooded with advertisements intended to entice people into wanting to begin a blog site so that they too can "make money blogging!" The promises are huge! "Tired of working 40 hrs. a week for someone else? Would you enjoy making enough money from the comfort of your own home to enable you to quite your job? Are you a stay at home mom who would like to begin making an income without leaving your house?" These promises sound too good to be true, and for most people, I have learned that is exactly what they are - too good to be true.

I, however, am one of the hundreds of people who have been lured into this world of blogging with the hope of making money. I have never expected the big money that everybody talks about. I figured I would be happy if I made $100 or $200 per month. If so many people were supposedly making much larger amounts of money, then I decided it could not possibly be too hard to make such a small amount.

I made the decision to begin blogging one evening as my husband and myself were talking about our need to find a way to generate some extra income. I had already read a little about blogging, and when my husband told me he knew a man who had friends who made a good amount of money blogging, I made a split second decision to begin a blog site. Right there and then I logged onto Blogger.com and a few short minutes later, I had my own blog site!

That conversation between my husband and myself took place in June of 2008. I have now been blogging for 3 months, and I have made just under $20.00. I have quickly learned that it is not nearly as easy to be successful as I thought it was going to be. I regularly spend a few hours daily trying new ways to improve my blog site. I search out and read advice from wherever I can find it and immediately go to my site and try it out. Traffic, I have learned, is one of the most important aspects of successful blogging. So, I joined one of those sites that promises to drive massive amounts of traffic to my site. All I had to do, they claimed, was surf the web, view other people's ads and sites for 15 seconds each, then click on particular numbers to gain credits which in turn translates into visitors being sent to my site.

That did result in a little more traffic showing up on my sitemeter, but I have a feeling that the traffic that is being sent to my site is simply other surfers who view my site for the required 15 minute countdown so they can click their way on to the next site in order to rack up credits for themselves so they too can drive more traffic to their site. I wonder if anybody actually takes the time to look at the sites in front of them before clicking on to the next one. I did at first, but now my only objective is to keep on clicking in order to rack up those credits so that the numbers show more and more traffic is going to my site. Has this resulted in more clicks on my ads and therefore more money? Absolutely not! Will sitting at my computer every chance I get, clicking and surfing, hoping that somehow the time I am spending at such a time consuming activity will eventually pay off ?

    I am not convinced.

I have submitted my blog site to all of the major search engines and blog directories that I can find (that are free). On the advice of someone in some help group where I asked the question "why can't I make any money with my ads?," I changed the arrangement of the ads on my site, eventually taking off all ads but one, and I placed that ad smack dab in the middle of the top of my page. I had a momentary thrill when I almost immediately made $7.00. But there has not been a penny since that time.

I am struggling to understand why I continue to keep my blog site going. I feel it has become somewhat of an addiction. I'm sure there are plenty of people who blog who understand what I mean by that. I suppose it could, perhaps, be compared to gambling in a way. You can't make yourself stop because maybe the next thing you try will be the very thing that begins to bring in the big money that all those advertisements are talking about!

    I remain unconvinced!

As for pay per click programs, these may provide you with a little less income each time yet you may have a better chance to earn money as you will receive a certain amount of payment every time someone on your site clicks the outside company's link. Both programs are a great way for you as a blogger to earn some extra money while blogging.

Recommend Your Other Sales Websites on Your Blog

An additional way to earn money online by starting a blog is when you use your blog to recommend your other sales websites. Many individuals may come to your blog for advice and information but be directed to your products website in order to purchase something that they need. You may have one or many other sales websites and these sites may offer products related to your blog topic or consist of an entirely different topic altogether. No matter what products you sell via your other websites, keep in mind that this is another great way to earn money online by starting a blog.

Blogging For Money - Tips For Beginner Bloggers

    By Cory Threlfall

Blogging is a great online venture to get involved in, whether it be for fun or money. For those who are hoping to make some money by blogging, it may take a little while to get into the swing of things and garner a regular income. However, if you do it correctly, you should be making money on a continual basis once you get the hang of it. If you are new to the world of blogging and want to get started in this type of activity, the following will provide some helpful blogging for money tips for beginner bloggers to consider.

    Blog About What You Know

For all of the beginner bloggers out there, one of the biggest mistakes which those new to this online type of industry make is to blog about topics foreign to them. It is best to blog about what you know. Doing so will help to ensure that you bring more and more site traffic to your blog and help to keep them there. Also, if you are hoping to make money via your blog, the best way to do so is to stick with well-known topics as you will have more visitors and therefore more opportunities to sell your associated products or acquire commission from outside companies using your blog.

Involve Outside Companies in Your Blogging Ventures

Although some bloggers make money on their own through their blog, others like to involve outside companies when blogging for money. Revenue building activities such as affiliate programs and pay per click programs involve the use of outside companies with your blog content. If blogging for money, one of the best things you can do as a new blogger is to involve outside companies via one of these aforementioned programs. You really do not have to know too much about blogging at this point as these programs are pretty self-explanatory and the outside companies handle most of the transactions. Therefore, while you are getting used to blogging you can still be making money at the same time.

Use More Than One Moneymaking Venture When Blogging for Money

Beginner bloggers should also be aware of the fact that blogging for money may take a few different moneymaking ventures in order to gain enough monthly income from doing so. Therefore, it is best to take advantage of more than one moneymaking venture when you blog for money. For example, you may want to sell your own products via your blog all the while partnering with outside companies to make money through that route.

Know That It Will Take Time to Acquire a Steady Income

As a beginner blogger who is interested in blogging for money, you should know that you will not become rich after two weeks of earning money through your blog. It will take quite a few months in many cases before you see a steady income coming in. With that said, do not get discouraged as blogging for money can be quite a lucrative job opportunity and one which may just take a little time to get started. In the end, blogging for money is a great way to set your own hours, work from home and bring money in while engaging in a thought provoking activity.

10 Powerful Ways to Increase Blog Traffic to Your Blog

    By Cory Threlfall

If you have a blog, you undoubtedly want to draw as much traffic to it as possible. Whether you are trying to make a living by blogging or if you simply want to get a specific message out to the readers, a large amount of blog traffic is ideal. The following will list 10 powerful ways to increase blog traffic to your blog.

Use Keywords to Increase Blog Traffic

First, you want to use keywords throughout your blog. Doing so will not only draw readers to your blog but it will bring in individuals who are interested in the topic areas which your blog covers.

Have a Main Point to Your Blog

Most blog surfers do not want to read a blog which is circuitous in nature. They want to read a blog which has true depth and a main point to it. Therefore, make sure that your blog has a main point within it and gets to that point in each and every blog posting. This too will increase blog traffic for you.

    Sell Things via Your Blog

Although some blog readers are just there to read the words and that's all, many others are interested in making purchases along the way. With that said, you want to provide them with the opportunity to buy something while reading your blog, whether it be your own items or ones provided by outside companies through affiliate programs and pay per click programs.

Keep Your Blog Current to Increase Blog Traffic

Keep in mind that individuals aren't going to visit your blog if they come across the same, stale information time and time again. You have to be sure to update your blog on a regular basis so that readers have something new to come back to.

    Make It Interesting

In addition, the blog content should be interesting and enticing. You want readers to make it a point to visit your blog everyday and tell their friends about it as well.

Post Your Link throughout the Internet

Another way to really increase the level of traffic to your blog site is to post your link in as many places online as possible. This is another way, in addition to search engines, to get people connected with your site.

    Offer Free E-books

A good way to get individuals hooked on your blog is to offer them something for free such as free e-books. E-books are multiple page writings which offer information and solutions on a variety of topics. Try to write an e-book or hire someone to do so and then post it on your blog. Advertise the free e-book over the Internet and by doing so you will ultimately increase the amount of traffic to your blog, please the readers and get them to come back for more.

Give Your Readers a Reason to Visit Your Blog

In addition to offering free e-books via your blog, you want to find other ways to get readers to visit your blog. Try offering contests and valuable information which visitors will want to take advantage of. If they find that your blog is helpful they will keep reading it and tell their friends about it also which will increase blog traffic to your site.

    Focus on One Specific Topic

You have to remember not to spread yourself too thin when writing a blog. You want the blog to focus on one specific area which will draw individuals to it by way of backlinks and search engines. By focusing on one area you will find that your blog traffic increases more than if you were to talk about various things on a random basis.

Write Guest Posts on Other Blogs and Websites

Lastly, you should try to write guest posts on other individual's blogs and websites to increase blog traffic to your own site. If you are putting out valuable information to the Internet surfers you are sure to find that people want to learn more about you and read other articles and posts which you have completed.

Business Blogging - Organize Your Blog to Maximize the Value of Your Readers and Your Expertise

    By Connie Ragen Green

Blogs have replaced websites as the best way to have visibility on the internet. I think of my blog as my home online. People find me by using my keywords when they are searching for information on my topic, or else they find my blog because I have commented on another blog, written something in a forum or in a social networking site, or given out my business card when I was speaking to a group.

The most important thing is that they now have a place on the internet to find out more about who I am and what I can do for them. I set up my blog in an organized way from the very beginning so that it would be easy for readers to quickly get what they need.

Having an opt-in box at the top of the blog is important in order to build your list. I ask for the person's first name and email address, and offer a free teleseminar in exchange for this information. This gives them the opportunity to hear me on a call and ask any questions they may have, and allows me to begin sending them regular email messages with tips, ideas, free reports, and information about upcoming courses I will be offering. This makes it a win-win situation for both of us. If they decide they are no longer interested, they can simply click on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email.

Categories are another feature on your blog that will help readers to find the information they are looking for. When I started my blog I created about 10 categories. These are the topics that I discuss in my blog posts. This number has now expanded to 32 categories, but it makes it very simple for someone to click on a particular category and see all of the posts I have made on that specific topic. You will want to think about your categories from the very beginning of creating your blog so that you can also benefit from the search engine optimization that goes along with having your keyword phrases listed on the first page of your blog.

It is also important to have a way for people to share your post with others through social media sites such as StumbleUpon, Digg, and others. You can set this up on your blog so that your readers can help you to be known on an even wider basis throughout the blogosphere.

Blogging is the very best way to get your message out to the world. You share your knowledge and expertise with your readers and promote your products and upcoming events in a conversational way. I encourage you to begin blogging in a serious way to build your online business.

Business Blogging - How to Keep Your Blog Fresh and Promote Your Products and Services by Blogging

    By Connie Ragen Green

Keeping your blog fresh, with new posts and relevant content, may seem like a chore when you are first starting out. After you have been blogging for a few months it will become much easier. Here are some ideas for maximizing your business potential with your blog.

Read as many other blogs as you can. You can search for them over at Technorati, the largest blogging directory in the world. When you come across blogs that are similar to your topic, subscribe to them and begin to comment on the posts you can contribute to. You can then write a post about the other blogger's post, and link back to it using a permalink. Also send a trackback so that the writer of the blog you are referring to in your post will know that you have done this. This will help you to build a relationship with that person.

You can also read books on your topic and do a book review as one of your blog posts. You might want to do this once or twice a month to share the information with your readers.

Set up a calendar each month and schedule your postings. This way you will never have to sit down at your computer and wonder what you will post about on that day. You can also take advantage of the feature all blogs have that allows you to write a post and have it appear at a designated time in the future. This allows you the freedom to write several blog posts in one sitting and know that they will post when you want them to appear.

Include a post on your blog that tells about something you are doing in your private life. I am a Rotarian, so once in awhile I will write about something that has happened in my Rotary Club. This will give your blog a more personalized touch, without taking away from your main focus.

Promote someone's products or services every so often, if you believe they will be useful to your readers. In fact, promoting something, whether it is your product or someone else's, will get your readers used to the idea that your blog is for business. If you never make an offer in your blog posts, people soon get the idea that you are writing casually and may never want to do business with you.

Blog as frequently as possible, at least two to three times each week, and you will be able to build your business very rapidly using these ideas.

And now I invite you to join me for free weekly teleseminars that will teach you how to write, market, and sell your articles and ebook to increase your visibility, credibility and passive income by visiting http://www.EbookWritingandMarketingSecrets.com and also learn the technology needed to run an online business.

    Affordable Online Success

    By Cody John

Many online business ideas require some level of financial investment to get them started. The level that you pitch in will be determined by your budget and the potential of your online money making machine.

There are however good and affordable online success methods that can be started up on a shoe string budget. Imagine that you have a budget of $100 (£50) to start your own first online business. Where would you spend this and why?

You need to research a theme or niche that your website will focus on. You can use a number of tools online and many of them have free versions. I used wordtracker free version to start with but now have the full program. So do your research to find a niche that has people looking for answers.

Then you need to find a product to sell to your niche. I recommend that you produce your own product in the form of an ebook that speaks to the needs of your niche. You can convert it to a pdf document for downloading using one of the free pdf converters.

Once you have your product you can create a sales page that sells your newly produced ebook. To host I would use the free blogging tool at blogger. The sites are easy to mange and you can set it up in minutes,

To take payments you can use a buy now button from paypal. If you do not have an account it is free to set up and in the merchant services section you can prepare your buy now button.

So you have managed to find your niche. You also have a new product to sell. The sales page is set up on blogger and you have a way of receiving your payments. The only problem is that you still haven't spent your budget of $100. What to do eh?

    Requirements For Successful Blogging

    By Antonio Seegars

In the beginning there was websites, now there are blogs. If there was an internet bible that's how it would go in the new testament. Because blogs have become powerful marketing tools and unlike websites there free. Soon there will be more blog owners then website owners on the internet and for most people just starting a blog and advertising it to their friends is all they need to do but if you started a blog for internet marketing/business purposes you need to know a few things about blogging if you want to be successful.

First, before you sign up for a blog you need to think what the content of your blog is going to be. Content is what holds blogs to together and keeps visitors coming back for more. Without good content no matter how many blogs you have you don't really have anything. So before you start blogging you need to think about what the subject of your blog is and you need to find information to provide to your blog visitors.

Fortunately, information is free on the internet and there are a variety of places where you can get topics for your blog post. If you do a search in Google for the subject of your blog you can find tons of free information to use in your blog. Once you find this information you have the choice of taking it as is, or rewriting it and putting your personal spin on it.

If your not the creative type and you can't really think of any subjects for your blog, just think about what the category of your blog is and use that to find information for your blog. If your blog is in the category of internet marketing for instance, you can do a search for internet marketing in article directories or you can visit Internet Marketing Forums such as the Warrior Forum and these places will provide you with topics for your blog, you just have to pick one that you find interesting. It's possible to own a blog and provide years worth of content for it without every having to create content yourself.

Once you've got your content it's time to promote your blog. I only use one form of marketing promotion and that's article marketing.

With article marketing you can submit articles to article directories and wait for traffic to come in. Articles are a great source for free promotion because you can write about whatever you want and you can include a link to any site that you wish as long as it's within the guidelines of the article directory that your using. Article directories are used by blog and website owners to find content so if you write a good article your article can be spread around the internet with a link back to your blog on multiple websites and blogs, so you get all of the traffic that they attract. Articles are also viewable in search engines such as Google so you can get organic traffic from people searching for information.

Blog - How to Choose the Right Platform For You

    By Angela Booth

You're a new blogger, and you're eager to start your blog, but you're confused. Which blog platform should you choose?

There are many blog platforms, and some are free. Others are commercial, or need to be installed on your own domain, with hosting, which means that you need to make a small investment.

My suggestion: start with a free platform, like Blogger or WordPress.com. When you choose a free platform, not only can you get started in minutes, you can give up your blog without too many tears if it turns out that you picked the wrong topic.

Here's what a freebie platform gives beginning bloggers (and established ones too):

    1. Eliminates Inertia - Gets You Started Blogging Now

With a free platform, you can start blogging as soon as you get an idea for a blog.

There's no hassle, no decisions to make. Just start.

One tip: WordPress.com frowns on commercial use, so if you want to sell affiliate products or make money from your free blog, use Blogger.

    2. Lets You Test and Try out Ideas - Your "Starter" Blog Is Just That

Most long-time bloggers have made one or more false starts before they settled down to the topic that was right for them. If you've purchased a domain name and hosting for a blog, and then decided that the topic wasn't for you, you've wasted time and a little money.

Worse, this can make you feel guilty or frustrated, and can put you off blogging for a while.

If you've started a topic on a topic which turns out not to be right for you on a free blog, there's no problem - just start another blog.

    3. Gives You Practice So You Get Comfortable Blogging

Blogging takes practice before you become proficient. You need to learn how to create different kinds of posts, which posts get the most response, and how to create a blogging schedule that works for you.

Practicing on a free blog is low risk. Who cares if you make a "mistake"? (There's no way you can make a mistake in blogging. Delete a post if you wish.)

    4. Gives You Confidence That You Can Handle the Technology

If you're a complete newcomer to the online world, the technology can seem confusing. With a free blog, everything is made simple: creating a blog is a step by step process, and there's lots of information available as you blog.

Starting your first blog on a free platform is a great idea, so why not start your new or next blog today?

Why Do I Have to Make My Blog an Authority Site?

    By Wade Mccraney

Building an authority status for yourself, your business, or your blog site can take a lot of time. If you cannot succeed in building an authority site with all the traffic you could ever want, in any niche you want, then it won't be because the information was not there. Another example is to earn a reputation in a certain field by building an authority through services such as Yahoo answer. In this article, we will discuss the benefits of building an authority blog site. The first area we will concentrate on is how to building an authority site for your business and all the tools and resources to create it so that you will get maximum exposure for your industry.

    Site

We are building a long-term, authority site, so you better make sure that your domain name is brandable. The next piece of the puzzle is the blog site's design. On the web, I noticed that finding a successful blog site in my niche with a lot of traffic is very much like finding a predator kill in the wild.

    Authority

Authority sites come into being because they deliver great content that people have demonstrated they want, and they make money by covering topics that can be supported by (among other things) lucrative affiliate programs. While this article discussed laying the basic groundwork for your authority affiliate site, the next article will talk specifically about building various types of landing pages. Make Your Blog an Authority Site. If you've been involved in any type of Internet marketing the last year or so, then you have heard how authority sites are taking the place of spam sites for a business model. An authority blog can have advertising and such, this is a spectrum not n either/or, but the best performing directly monetized blogs and sites will have aspects about them that reduce their authority appeal. Once you build a thriving community, you will truly have an authority site.

    Content

Once you start receiving the initial content for your authority affiliate site, it is time to begin using that content to form landing pages. These initial batches of content do not need to be informational (unless you want to spend some extra money up front), but instead, should be sales content for your landing pages. The reason we are only creating landing page content at this point is that our main goal is to generate a positive cash flow and then use those profits to fuel further development. Authority blog sites, on the other hand, usually provide content in the form of articles, news, blogs, etc.

    Money

Authority Site Center delivers a quantity and quality of traffic that money simply cannot buy. How much money will you lose if you spend another year jumping from scheme to scam only to end up right back where you are today? " You absolutely have to find a way to bring remarkable service, content and products to your niche that just blows everything else away, or at least blows away enough of the competition that you are right up there with the best of the best in your niche and making the money you want to make with your business.

    Google

Google is definitely favoring authority sites over smaller niche sites. Google and other search engines will reward you for fresh content by giving you better ranking. Google and Yahoo provide services where you can submit an advanced version of your sitemap using an XML file. Whatever Google decides to do, search engine optimization professionals will have a more difficult challenge and only the best will be able to produce good results. Article Submission - Submitting 4-5 original articles to the 5 article directories that are recommend that will get you fast ranking within Google Once the article directory approves the submission; you will have to go back and takes the article page within the article directory and starts linking to the article. In other words, your strategy here is to utilize your "authority" status (and again, Google will automatically rank you higher for being such a site) to get other "experts" in the field to give you articles simply to be associated with you.

    Social

In fact, most recently the web has not only integrated social networking and social media in its content distribution methods but has become a social network in itself. Then, write about it on your site and make it go viral by submitting it to social networking sites, emailing relevant bloggers, and issuing press releases.

    Networking

You would also need to have an understanding and a full knowledge of how the content works the various high networking options and sophisticated web site builders with guaranteed SEO ranking. Humanity is my community and I love internet marketing and networking and teaching... so this thing is ... You get a feel for the niche, networking opportunities, friendships, and a whole lot of fun.

Lately, a lot of articles talk about achieving better search engine ranking by building an authority blog site. As opposed to PPC, building an authority site is more an investment of time and energy. Common sense will tell you that when building an Authority Site your readers want relevant content and nobody will want to watch a bunch of unrelated, poorly done article, but a relevant article that is on topic makes article marketing something that will keep a visitor on your site. It was my understanding if you were building an authority site; links to other relevant sites was a natural situation and therefore a good thing.

Increase Your Home Party Plan Sales by Blogging

    By Tracey A Edwards

It can sometimes be difficult to grow your home party plan business if you don't know a lot of people, and if you are shy to boot then it makes it even harder.

Many companies will often tell new reps that to increase their business they just need to talk to more people and hand out their business cards to everyone they meet, but while this can be effective for some people, it just doesn't work for everyone.

Not too long ago I too was a struggling home party plan consultant. When I asked my upline how to increase my bookings and find new customers she just told me that I needed to see more people.

As frustrating as it is, that advice is actually very sound when you consider the millions of people online, and as they say - go where the people are!

Blogging is one of the easiest ways to get started online because it they are simple to set up and they usually rank quite well in the search engines (search engines love fresh and unique content).

However the trick to using a blog to increase your home party plan business is in what you write about.

Most companies don't allow their consultants to mention the company name or products online as it is against their trademark policies; however it is still possible to build your home party plan business by writing about your products and services in a generic way.

So, if you are a representative for a skin care company you could offer advice on your blog on how to get rid of wrinkles. If you work for a company that is associated with food then you could put recipes online.

By giving great content people will start to come to see you as an expert in that field and ask you for recommendations. Once they contact you then you can recommend products from your company line.

The next step is getting people to visit your home party plan blog. Blog Your Way to Party Plan Success is a great little guide that will show you what to write about and how to get more traffic to your blog so your customers will be seeking you out.

Tracey knows all the secrets for building your home party business, well most of them anyway. http://www.partymarketingsuccess.com/

How to Increase Your Home Party Sales by Starting a Blog

    By Tracey A Edwards

Finding new customers for your party plan business can be frustrating if you don't know many people, and your home party sales will suffer if you can only rely on a few friends and family.

You have a few options to help boost your sales, and that includes advertising through flyers, talking to everyone you meet about your business, handing out business cards and having a table or stall at shows and exhibitions.

If you are time poor then another thing to consider is starting a blog to help market yourself and your business.

    Why use a blog?

Blogs are becoming much more mainstream for businesses to market themselves because they are cost effective, an efficient means of reaching large numbers of potential customers and they are simple to set up.

Customers like them too because they usually contain unique information and helpful advice on topics that they are interested in.

You can also start a blog to help boost your home party sales. By doing so you can create a blog people want to visit when they need to know something about your industry therefore setting yourself up as an expert in your field.

Many party plan and direct sales companies don't allow mentioning their company name directly but you can still talk generally about your products and services.

For example you may be in a perfume direct sales company so your blog could be about choosing the right fragrance for every occasion, or what the difference between top notes and base notes are.

Then when people want to know more they can contact you for more information, and when they do you can either send them to your company website (if you have one) or email them your recommendations on which is the best fragrance to buy - including any special deals that your business offers.

Home Party Consultants - Explode Your Business by Blogging!

    By Tracey A Edwards

If you are in the home party business then you know that the key to success is finding as many customers as possible. No customers means no bookings, which means you are not earning any money.

And if you are not earning any money - you are not going to be a home party consultant for too long.

To get more customers you need to go where the people are, and where are millions and millions of potential customers hanging out these days? That's right - online!

    But why a blog?

Blogs are the easiest and simplest ways to get started online because you don't need any special skills, most of them are free and people love reading them.

Search engines seem to like them too, because they usually updated quite often and because people write with their own words the content is unique.

The trick to building your business is to post helpful and interesting articles, but doing so in a very general way. By doing that without mentioning your company name (which most party plan companies won't allow anyway) you can start to build yourself as an expert in your field.

So if you are a home party consultant that sells cooking gadgets and bake ware, you could have recipes on your blog and cooking tips to create the perfect meal.

And if people contact you for more information, which products do you think you'd recommend? I think you already know the answer!

So how do you get people to contact you?

The simplest way is to make it very easy for them by making sure that your contact details are visible from every page. You could say something like, "for more information on the best cookware to use for this recipe please email me at ..."

That way you are not breaking any rules by using your company name, but if the customer contacts you first then you are free to recommend them your products.

Explode Your Home Party Business by Starting a Blog - Yes a Blog!

    By Tracey A Edwards

If your home party business is struggling then you are probably frustrated that you can't seem to get things going. You've gone to your company sales meetings so you know that it's possible but for some reason your home party sales are still struggling.

That was me before I starting blogging. I couldn't get a customer to save myself. I'd ask my upline for advice and all she would say was to 'see more people'. In fact I started to think I would never be successful in my party plan business.

That's when I decided to take my business online and start a blog. After all - so many people are online these days, I could see as many people as I wanted - as long as they visited my blog that is.

    Why Start A Blog?

Businesses are finding that blogging is becoming one the key ways to market their products and services because it's effective and inexpensive, so if it's good enough for the big businesses then it should be good enough for you too.

But I'm Not Allowed To Be Online?

Ahh yes that is probably true. Most home party companies forbid their consultants for using their name and products online in case they breach copyright or trademark rules, but if you talk about your products and services generally then you can still be online without breaking any rules.

For example, if you are with a candle party plan then your blog could be about the most effective ways to light a room, the difference between wax and soy based candles and so on.

By being general about your topic, you will be seen as an expert in your area and people will start asking you for recommendations. And which candles would you recommend in this case? Your companies of course!

Once a customer contacts you, you are free to promote anything you like to them.

Can Blogging Really Boost Your Party Plan Business?

    By Tracey A Edwards

There has been a lot of talk lately about whether building a blog can really help boost your party plan business and find more customers and bookings for you.

The simple answer is it can, but only if you have set it up in a way that fully markets you and your business to the best of your potential.

So how should you set up your blog to build your party plan business?

You need to take some time to try and understand what potential customers would be looking for before they have decided to purchase. While it can be good to get customers when they are ripe to buy with credit card in hand, in reality this doesn't happen until you establish yourself first.

Therefore you need to target people who would be interested in your products but are not actually seeking them. Instead they are seeking advice or information on the benefits of what your product can do.

For example, there would only be a small group of people looking for a particular brand of eye cream but there would be thousands upon thousands of people looking for ways to reduce wrinkles or get rid of puffy eyes.

So to effectively market to these potential customers you need to give them information on how to achieve what they want in your blog.

Each blog post should be relevant to one customer concern. So you could have a blog post on reducing bags under the eyes, other on choosing the right blush for your skin type, and yet another on why to use a toner and what it actually does.

By providing this information you are then in a great position to offer recommendations based on your advice.

It is very important that you provide good advice and not just try and sell to them first up. A good ratio is around 80% good advice and information and only 20% marketing.

Reasons Why a Blog is Better Than a Normal Website

    By Tom Lindstrom

Having a normal website was the way to succeed on the internet - this has been known for some time. A website opens the doors for options and numerous possibilities for the entrepreneur to take advantage of. But as of late, it has been found that having a blog can do drastic things for internet marketers.

Many are beginning to question whether it is better to have a blog than an actual web site. There are certainly perks of having a blog over a web site, but it strictly depends on the person doing the marketing.

A web site is extremely time consuming to build from ground up. There is a lot of work that goes into building one and a lot of maintenance that must be done. You must constantly be adding new content, new graphics, and sticking with the internet and its evolution.

At the same time, the sky is the limit for what you can do with a normal web site. You can promote your own products, someone else's products, various programs, and even get paid for people clicking on ads. There are great opportunities that come from having your own web site.

Blogging is great because it allows you to open up and show your true personality. It is difficult showing people who you are with a web site because you cannot talk to them conversationally except maybe through e-mail.With a blog, you can present arguments or topics and see where people take them. In addition, you can add your insights and further the conversation.

A blog does not limit you to just talking conversationally to people either. You can promote affiliate programs, promote others programs, sell products of your own and sell advertising directly from your blog. But the benefit of using a blog is you get to build that relationship with prospects before pressuring them to purchase anything. It is far easier to turn a prospect into a customer if you have gained their trust and respect.

While many are beginning to believe that having a blog is better than a normal web site, the real solution is to create both. If you would like to start one first and go from there, go ahead and start a blog. Although it is time consuming and a lot of work, the best way to have success and separate yourself from the competition is to have the two go hand-in-hand together.

Building a Huge Opt-in List From Your Blog

    By Tom Lindstrom

Having a huge opt-in list can be extremely beneficial for your business. It gives you the ability to capture people's names and addresses. From there, you can use this information to inform them of new products you have or specials you have going on. In general, it can be a great way to increase the amount of sells you have.

There are several ways you can go about building a monstrous opt-in list, but there are a number of ways you can increase your list just through your blog. And with it becoming more essential to have a blog than ever, it is important you apply these tips to your blog immediately.

The first thing you can do is use a pop up ad to catch people's attention when they get to your blog. You are probably saying to yourself that these things are so annoying and that is the last thing you want to put on your blog. But you would be surprised at what pop up ads can do for you. All people have to do is fill out their name and email and they can be on their way.

The next thing you can do is place a sign-up form on the top of your blog so people see it immediately. Right when people get to your blog, the first thing they will see is your form. Even if they do not want to sign up immediately, they may be more inclined to do so after reading what you have to say on your blog and begin to trust you. Having it on the top of the blog allows them to see it multiple times as well.

As you are probably well aware of, having a blog gives you the opportunity to talk about anything you want and go in whatever direction you choose. While it is a much more conversational and casual place to talk, you can still promote your business through your blog from time to time. Therefore, there is nothing wrong with mentioning your opt-in list form every week or so.

Lastly, everyone likes free things regardless of what it is. Why not create an e-book or some other kind of product that you can give away for free. Just tell people that all they need to do is provide their name and e-mail address and they can receive the free product. Make sure they know the information is strictly for your opt-in list and nothing else.

Having a blog can be extremely beneficial to you and your business. While you can do several things with a blog, it can be a great way to build up a huge opt-in list for your online business.

10 Ways of Creating Traffic to Your Blog

    By Rosa Florence

If you really want to create traffic to your blog then you better listen up. There are things that you can do to help get traffic to your blog for free without every having to pay anything. I created this list after asking myself what drives me to reading others blogs. Once you ask yourself this question, you too can create your own list. I am not like some of the other bloggers, I don't just tell you what to do, I give you a reason of why you should do it to get traffic to your blog. Enjoy the list and be sure to comment or add your own into the mix.

    1. Content

Just like everyone has said from the beginning, content is king. If your content is worth reading then this can generate traffic to your blog and give you a potential income if this is what you are after. Write content that is worth reading and your readers will stick around for a while and maybe even tell their friends.

    2. Make it search engine friendly

This isn't exactly necessary but it does work to some extent. I have heard many saying that you should create a blog with a domain name that tells what your blog is all about. I chose my domain name after my son died. My son was known as the Gaje Master and I sort of picked it up. Gaje Master doesn't really tell what my blog is about but on the other hand, when people search for Gaje Master I am the first thing that pops up which makes it easier for them to find.

    3. Submitting your blog

Every now and then, search engines like Google need a little helping hand to find your blog. Submit your blog to search engines and make it easier for people who are looking for you. This also helps search engines to get your blog indexed more quickly.

    4. Ping blogging services

There are many places that allow you to ping your blog but Pingomatic is the best that I have found so far. Pinging helps to get traffic to your blog by pinging different services to tell them that you have updated your blog. If you use Wordpress, you may enter these in the pinging field to allow these services to be pinged automatically. Technorati even has a pinging service that you can use and we all know how important people think that the technorati authority is.

    5. Build relevant links to your blog

This has been a touch situation for many bloggers since there are a lot of them that say that this is the wrong way to get traffic to your blog. In any case, I haven't seen it hurt anyone but I do recommend that you only get linked back to your blog by other relevant blogs. In order to get traffic to your blog by building links you will need to create or do a few things first. Commenting on relevant blogs is one way to get traffic to your blog, writing free article for free article directories is another but this is another touch issue; leaving trackbacks to other blogs can also help you to get links built.

    6. Contest your way to getting traffic to your blog

I have seen many do this and it has proven to work. Create a contest of your choice and ask the participants to write a blog post about your blog with a link back. Give something good away so that you will drive more attention to your blog. The more people that enjoy what you are giving away, the more people will want to blog about you. A contest doesn't just help in getting traffic to you blog it can also have many other benefits.

    7. Become and expert and start getting traffic to your blog

There is nothing worse than trying to get traffic to a blog that knows nothing about what they are posting. If you are just starting out or have been blogging for a while, take the time to learn as much as you possibly can about the subject. The more you know, the more you can blog about and the more you can teach people. Once you are an expert and people realize this, they will continue to come to your blog which in return means more traffic for you.

    8. Start a tutorial

A tutorial doesn't have to be complicated and many more people will sign up for your RSS Feed or continue to return if you can promise them something worth returning over. I started my one year goal in hopes that I would accomplish my mission of making it as one of the top bloggers and this is a bit of a tutorial that I started for my readers. In my One Year Goal I will be giving all my readers the tips and secrets that I am using to get to the top by following a top blogger for a full month. If you want to see how this tutorial goes, sign up for my RSS Feed and learn along with me.

    9. Write something that will get linked to

These are actually a favorite of mine since many will link back to you and help in getting more traffic to your blog. A great list is something like a resource list, list of tips, advice that everyone can use, Top whatever list. These types of list seem to draw the most attention and will create more links back to your blog. I also like doing a number list.

    10. Become an active blogger

Being active will help in getting traffic to your blog. The more people see your name, the more they are going to want to know about you. I am very active in forums, blogs, and anywhere else that I can be. I have found that if you are active and use your URL in places that allow you to use it, people will click.

Blogging As a Way to Begin to Make Money Online

    By Roberto Gomes

When you're just starting to get into the online business you'll pretty soon get overwhelmed by the amount of information and offers, tons of different ways to make it, and each promising more than the other. Now it's very important that you take action as soon as possible and don't get stuck in reading and researching everything. Taking action can sometimes be hard, and a lot of people never even make it through this phase, so in my opinion the first thing you should do is start a blog immediately.

If you have the gift of writing, whatever it may be about, poems, stories, lyrics, recipes, game or product reviews, a personal diary, etc, then you should have no problems starting a blog right now and continue posting to your blog with relative frequency. If you don't have the gift of writing, well, i would recommend you start a blog anyway and try it out for a month or two. Maybe with time you'll learn to enjoy blogging, like millions of others. A blog is extremely easy to start, it's completely free and you can be blogging in less than 5m.

    What will you blog about?

Whatever you like, everything you like. The more the better, feel free to just pour your heart and soul into it, talk about movies you watched or music you listen to, sites you visit or discovered, what you work on, your love life, your hobbies, hopes and dreams. There are tons of things you can blog about, just ask yourself what you enjoy and write about that.

If you're specialized in a subject, that's great, you should start a blog just about that subject, and just keep another blog for everything else. You should always make sure that as soon as you feel you'll be writing a lot about a specific subject, then create a new blog just for it. Are you a designer? Then make a blog just for your designs. A photographer? Make a blog with your photos. Really like computer games? Make a blog about a specific game or do your own game reviews on your blog. You get the point, you should expand every time you think you'll get enough material to get a new blog going. This will ensure you get better targeted traffic for the subject specific blogs and increase your number of websites. Several websites and blogs are usually a better choice that just one or a few, but it's better to have few good ones than a lot of bad ones.

Now the reason I think blogging should be the first step even for a newbie is because it's just so easy, a blog puts you on the map practically instantly, you start to get the hang of managing a site, and in 3 or 4 months doing about 4 posts per week you will already be getting some traffic. The general rule is that regular posting increases traffic so try to keep your blog frequently updated. Don't have anything to say? Just look at the news and comment about something on your blog, or post a funny YouTube video, a funny pic, just maintain activity. As for your specialized blogs, those should always be kept on topic so if you can't find anything to post on those blogs, it's better to not post at all and just wait for worthy content.

Starting one or several blogs early on your online venture will only help you in the long run. Frequently updated blogs can eventually rank highly on the search engines for hundreds of keywords and even if you don't end up building your online business model around blogging those blogs will help you get much needed traffic and links.

Now don't think about the money just yet, blogging won't make you rich instantly although it eventually can. A lot of people make a living blogging. Can you? That's hard to say, if you're just starting out then don't even think about that, just start blogging for a few months, get used to it, make constant posts, be original and controversial, and keep an eye on your visitor count. Only once you have a blog with constant traffic will it be time to start thinking about monetizing that traffic.

Roberto Gomes writes for TheMillionDollarDomain.com, a blog aimed at beginners in the make money online business, internet marketing and all subtopics that revolve around it like traffic generation, search engine optimization, contextual advertising, affiliate marketing and much more.
