Blogging shrinks the world. It brings communication to a new level on the internet. The blog is so very popular these days that millions of people are talking to one another through their blogs right this very moment. It is a fantastic platform by which marketers are able to reach out to millions of potential buyers on the internet.

Online marketing of any product or service requires you to know how to reach out to your targeted audience effectively. Without this knowledge, it is equivalent to finding the needle in a haystack. The internet is vast and if you are able to contact your potential customers to promote your product or service, your business will be on the right track.

As blogging is the hottest activity on the internet, you will stand to gain by setting up your blog and using it to do your online marketing. Read all about the advantages of a business blog below.

(1) High volume of traffic with high ranking

As mentioned above, the blog helps bring traffic by increasing its visibility. This can be achieved by securing a high ranking in the major search engines, for instance Google, and with this, you will be able to experience a good volume of traffic to your web site. More often than not, you will receive traffic that is targeted.

(2) Builds relationships and gains trust

Blogging is mainly interactive communication. You have got to talk with your voice that is personalized. The opportunities to build relationships with your readers are plenty, and if you capitalize on them, your online business will experience results, especially if you have also gained the trust of your readers, through your openness, transparency, and sincerity.

(3) Opportunity for sound rapport

One of the many advantages of a business blog is the ability for you to build and increase sound rapport with the visitors of your blog. The reason is that you will be able to drive them to your sales website. As traffic increases, the possibilities for closing sales are also increased. Likewise, opportunities for new product or service launches will also increase.

(4) Easy reaching out to vast internet audience

Through the blog, you are able to reach out to a really massive audience of web surfers. About five billion searches are being conducted every month on the internet. Statistics reveal this startling opportunity to drive these surfers to your business. This is the intrinsic power of the blog. It creates an exponential impact upon your business.

(5) Ability to retain readers

The blog enables you to provide the space for interested readers and followers by means of an online community. This acts as a meeting place for your readers to return to your blog again and again. Sharing of information and exchange of ideas are made possible through this online community. It is a great way to foster friendship and create trust, which is one of the numerous advantages of a business blog. The larger the community, the better it is for the growth of your business.

(6) Ability to personalize

The intrinsic characteristic of a blog is to be personal in your own voice. You would need to provide a personal touch to your service through your blog. That said, it is vital to humanize your business in order to make your potential customers feel comfortable in buying from you. Provide them with warmth and concern, and they will return to your blog for more.

(7) Builds your credibility

You create posts relevant to your niche in your blog. As such, the world comes to know you as an expert in your field, especially when you provide great and relevant information and content. Your credibility increases when readers hold a high esteem of you as a leading expert in your industry. When you speak, they will listen.

(8) Provides ease of use

Blogging is made so easy with advanced technology. The blog offers so many easy-to-use, cost-effective web publishing, and content management tools. Even a one-man business is able to compete head-on with a large company on the same level playing ground.

Blogging offers the best opportunities for online marketing. Tools and resources are at our disposal. The only way to reap all of the many advantages of a business blog is to actually start one. Update Your Old Blog Posts

By Michael Powers

Most bloggers never revisit old posts after they were originally posted. Bloggers usually always focus on what they are going to write next on their blog and forget about their past posts. However one thing to keep in mind is that your writing has evolved over time and has hopefully got a lot better then when you first started blogging. Your knowledge of blogging has increase through experience and research in the topic of your blog. When you first started writing your blog there were probably flaws in: SEO unfriendly titles, poor quality posts, bad grammar, and poor structure of posts.

After posting for a few months regularly you probably have built up a decent archive of content. This information is invaluable and it is something that you always want to keep in your blog. However you should realize that these posts could be improved upon even though they are old. There is no reason why you cannot go back to these archived posts and edit them and improve them. By editing these posts you can increase the value of them.

Updating Archived Posts

There are many ways you can go back to update these archived posts. Probably one of the easiest ways I find to do it is go back to the oldest post and work your way to the newest ones. You do not have to edit the posts all at once. You can concentrate on updating maybe one or two a week and slowly work your way through all your posts. Some of them may not even need editing and some may need a lot of work. I always try to read over my previous posts from the last month to see if I can improve upon them. I also sometimes get other people to read my blog posts to make sure they make sense since sometimes I write them late at night. Below are a few things you should look for when editing your old posts:

  • Improve the grammar, spelling, post structure - the more you blog the better you will get at this. If you are still struggling you can get the help of a friend or family member to read over your posts to help you improve them.

  • Change blog titles to more SEO friendly titles - this if one of the most important things you can do to improve the quality of your blog posts. A lot of the traffic to your blog will come from search engines and having a SEO friendly title helps bring in the traffic.

  • Add in any relevant images and links - it is helpful to spice up your blog a bit with relevant images. It gives the reader something to look at while they read your blog and makes it a bit more interesting. As well having links about the things you are taking about is helpful as well so the reader can easily view what you are talking about.

  • Add more details - if the post is very plain and doesn't really have any useful information then add some more information that will catch the readers attention. If the post doesn't catch the readers attention then it hasn't done its job.

Hopefully you consider going back to some of your previous posts and changing them up a bit to improve the quality of the posts. I know it is something I have definitely done myself and will continue doing in the future.

How to Benefit From Blogging

By Gregg Brown

If you already own a website you might want to consider turning a part of your website into a blog. A blog will help you make the most out of your web presence by offering your visitors daily or even weekly updates. By maintaining keeping your website visitors updated you will help your business running strong during hard months.

If you do not have a blog or website, starting a blog will help small business owners with little web design knowledge and a very small budget maintain a professional online presence.

Most web designers will charge less to design and install a new blog than they would charge to design and install a traditional html website. Blogging has already become extremely popular with many established businesses. Those who have not already started taking advantage are quickly noticing the changes.

Quite a few business owners have even began shutting down their traditional websites and replacing them with custom designed blogs. Those business owners that have not shut their traditional website have instead added blogs to be used to tell visitors about important updates or sales.

Before adding a blog your website or switching to a blog format, take the time to experiment with different blog platforms. Once you know more about blogging you will be able to decide whether or not blogging is right for your business. By starting out using blogging for personal news and updates you will be able to grow comfortable with the different blogging platform options and the benefits of running a blog on a professional level.

Many website owners have discovered that switching to a blog or adding a blog to their website will keep them from being at the mercy of their website designers. At some point or another business owners have needed a fast update to advertise a special event or sale. On many occasions web designers will not be able to complete an update for at least 24 hours. In some instances the update could take a week, costing your business valuable time and lost revenue. By using a blog your business will no longer be dependent upon a web designer.

Running a blog makes it possible for web site owners to take charge of when and how information is posted on their site. No more waiting on web designers to become available. Many business owners have found that their sales and traffic increased almost instantly when they were able to take charge of the information on their site. Visitors and potential clients were no longer shown the same, boring, information day after day. Now visitors are constantly exposed to new deals and information which will encourage them to visit your businesses website daily.

Blogs also give potential clients and readers a chance to interact with a business. They are able to comment on individual posts and pages to share their feedback or even offer suggestions. Not only are you the business owner able to read this valuable customer feedback, you can also choose to show the comments to the public allowing other clients to see real customer feedback. Sometimes blog comments can be more valuable than any customer testimonial.

Many prospective customers choose their products and services based on the businesses reputation. Positive reviews and feedback on your products and services can often be more effective than an expensive marketing campaign. The comments can also provide an unofficial FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) section. Many surfers will often read a posts that relates to their questions and problems to see if the comments answer their questions before they will visit a sites FAQ. By making comment posts visible to all visitors you will probably answer the questions of many potential clients.

Also, responding to any comments left by customers, even if you are only saying "thank you", will show your potential clients how well your company treats customers. This will make a potential client feel more confident about doing business with your company for the first time. It will also help establish a possible reputation for your online business.

Please remember to monitor all comments that are being left on your blog. Most blogging platforms will let the website owner moderate all comments prior to the public being able to view them. This will help avoid comment spam. Many companies sell software that will automatically send comments to blogs that cover certain subjects. Some of these comments could be offensive so manually monitoring comments will help avoid embarrassing situations.

Even if you do not have a business online or otherwise that needs to be promoted you can still benefit from a blog. Many of the most profitable and popular blogs on the Internet today started out as personal diaries or commentary blogs. By adding ads to your blog or doing other things to capitalize on traffic you can turn your casual past time into a profitable business venture.

Traffic to Blog - 5 Fun and Fast Ways to Drive Traffic to a New Blog Within 24 Hours

By Colleen Slater

Many blog owners struggle with getting traffic to their blog, especially when their blog is brand new. Generating visitor traffic to your blog takes a little effort on your part but thankfully modern technology is now making that task a lot easier.

The most common blogging platforms online are Blogger, Wordpress and installing your own WP blog on your domain. It's possible to get traffic to your blog on its first day of launch once you put these tips into practice.

I created a new blog in a health niche on 17 September 2008. Within 24 hours of creating that blog I generated enough traffic to this weblog to award me with a sale.

Let me give you an example of what I do when I start a new blog.

(1) RSS Feed Syndication

Every blog has an RSS feed. By submitting your RSS feeds to the most popular feed services online you can get very quick traffic to your site, particularly if you are focusing on keywords with lower competition in the search engines.

All that you need to do is submit your feed url to a range of services (these are free) as soon as your site is live.

The ones in particular that I highly recommend are:

  1. Feedage.com

  2. Feedagg.com

  3. Feedraider.com

  4. Feedfury.com

  5. Feedsubmitter.com

  6. Feedest.com

  7. Search4rss.com

Now when you submit your rss url to these services it's absolutely critical that you carefully select the right tags to include with the submission. It is these tags that will help drive traffic to y our website. The best tags to use are the ones that are you targeting your site about -- plus what you believe your search engine visitors will put in the search box in order to find out what you're offering.

(2) Social Bookmarking Your Blog

Social bookmarking involves bookmarking your blog, what it's about and what it has to offer at the most popular social bookmarking sites online.

It is important not to overuse this method or to spam these sites.

Simply do a short post explaining why you believe this site or product will interest other people on these sites.

Some of the most popular social bookmarking sites are:

  • Digg.com

  • YahooBuzz

  • Technorati.com

  • Del.icio.us

  • Propeller

  • StumbleUpon

  • Reddit

  • Mixx

  • Fark

  • MyBlogLog

(3) Social Networking

Social networking is slightly different. Probably the most popular social networking site is Facebook. When you create an account at Facebook or other social networking sites like Myspace you can connect with other people online and create friendships and networks with these people related to your niche.

It is through these networks and relationships that you can then promote your sites or products (although VERY subtly).

Some of the more popular social networking groups are:

  1. FaceBook

  2. MySpace

  3. Classmates Online

  4. MSN Groups

  5. Yahoo Groups

  6. Xanga

(4) Google AdWords

Paying for traffic from Google isn't for the faint hearted. Done incorrectly you could achieve no sales at the end of the week but a Google AdWords bill of hundreds of dollars. However, done correctly you can actually get in front of surfers within about 15 minutes of writing your ads.

(5) Video Marketing

Millions of videos are watched daily by surfers all over the world. Video marketing is really the next wave of internet marketing online. By creating video clips or short video articles and then linking to your url in the video and also in the description box of the video sites you can get high rankings very quickly and drive traffic to your blog fast, provided the quality of your content is good.

Here are some of the easier to use video sharing sites online:

  1. YouTube

  2. Blip

  3. VideoEgg

  4. DailyMotion

  5. GoogleVideo

  6. AOL

  7. Eyespot

Conclusion

Many people online choose to put in as little effort as possible into creating blogs and promoting them.

However, by incorporating some of these simple but more advanced traffic generating methods it is possible to drive targetted traffic to your site within 24 hours of its creation.

Whether you actually make sales after this point is entirely dependent on the feel of your blog, your site layout, the ease of navigation, the quality of the content and the kind of Plugins being used to entice your readers to stay on your blog longer.

Here's a live example of a blog that fits into this criteria that may help your blog to appear more interesting to its readers. It also has a range of techniques in place to keep visitors on the blog longer by internal linking to relevant blog posts. Click here to see how you can incorporate some of these blogging techniques on your blog and increase the amount of time your visitors stay on your blog -- and ultimately return to it.

Why Every Business Can Benefit From Blogging

By Chris Simpson

Although very few had ever heard the term "blog" a few years ago, today it is a term that is very much a part of our vocabulary. However, even if you are familiar with a blog and what it is, you may not really understand how it can benefit your business. You see, every single business today can actually benefit from blogging. How, you ask? Well, here are just a few of the top benefits your business can enjoy by starting a blog.

It Provides Better Search Engine Marketing

First of all, every single business can benefit from better search engine marketing and blogging can help to do this for you. Google and other search engines really like sites that are updated often with fresh content that is keyword rich. You can keep fresh content up easily by adding a blog to your site. This means that Google will list more of your pages and you'll even climb in the search engine results as well, providing better visibility for your company.

Build a Readership and a Brand

Blogging can also provide businesses with a way that they can build up a readership as well as a brand. Over time you'll find that people begin to look to your blog for top information and to find out what you are going to say. Also, blogging provides your business with the ability to build the brand by getting it out there in front of thousands of readers who may not have heard about your brand any other way.

You'll Look Like an Expert

Business blogging also helps to establish you as an expert in the field you are involved in. You'll be able to show and tell people that you are an expert when you blog. When people see that you really know what you are talking about, they'll start really paying attention to the things that you have to say. This will lead to a good readership, and people that consider you an expert are going to be more likely to purchase from your business.

A Low Cost Method of Marketing

Many businesses today really love blogging because it really is a low cost method of marketing. Setting one up is very cheap and it takes very little to keep it up as well. For just a low cost, you can have amazing business results from a business blog.

Earn the Trust of Clients and Build Relationships

Last of all, business blogging today allows you to earn the trust of clients and build relationships. If you want to sell successfully, building up relationships is so important. When you post honest articles to your blog, you'll begin to build up trust with possible clients. Readers will be able to comment as well, helping you to build up new relationships. When you get their trust and build relationships, you'll be more likely to sell to these people.

Blogs - Your Expertise Offered to the World, Pain-Free

By Ken Long

As a teacher, researcher, and a subject matter expert in some aspects of military logistics, small unit management and leadership, I am constantly answering questions from current or former students on areas where they know I have some skill. I have been frustrated with providing similar answers to the same questions which have been separated by time. I have been struggling with how to generate, essentially, an FAQ of my expertise that is readily accessible to my students, yet flexible enough to adapt to their particular situations.

It is now clear to me that blogs are an extraordinarily effective way to accomplish this task in a way that is flexible and adaptable for me, and meaningful for them. It adds the dimension of being findable for people who have the questions I can answer but who diont know me yet. I am disappointed that it took me so long to finally figure this out and act, but I forgive myself and am getting on with it.

My intent is to use the blog to demo a "portfolio central" to capture all the good answers to questions that i would have typically written in an email in a 1:1 mode.

I have already been able to use the links to some posts to engage in some discussions on planning and managing uncertainty with officers deployed to field locations. the blog lets me continue to craft my answers and ratchet up the quality.

The blog advantage is that the posts are tagged/keyworded and are open to be found by any searcher, not just those who know me and have asked an explicit question

An excellent book on this subject is "Ambient Findability" by Peter Morville (2005); describes the challenge of being found in a world where your writing output grows arithmetically, but published works are growing exponentially.

You must be open to being found or your voice will be silenced by the stack of newly published material being piled around you.

The Real Benefits of Blogging

By Antonio Seegars

There are two benefits to blogging. Better search engine optimization and increased profits.

It's a fact that blogging will increase your search engine optimization if you blog on a regular basis and submit your blog post to article directories.

The reason blogs improve your S.E.O. is because every time you update your blog, search engines send out what's called "spiders" and they crawl your blog. And every time they find new content on it, they make a note of it. So over time if you continually update your blog your search engine ranking will also increase.

But if your just updating your blog and not doing anything else your search engine rank will improve slowly. To substantially increase your S.E.O. and increase your traffic. Do keyword research and pick good keywords to title your blog post. Doing this will help search engines recognize the content of your blog.

After you do this the next step is to submit your new keyword optimized blog post to article directories with a link back to your blog. Every time you submit an article to article directories you create a backlink to your website. And search engines view blogs and websites with backlinks as being important. So it's good to build up a lot of backlinks, the more you have, the more important you are to search engines.

An added benefit of submitting articles to article directories is that website and blog owners go to them to find content for their sites. And there not allowed to change the content that they get from article directories so if they decide to use your article as content for there site. You just got another backlink and potentially more traffic to your site.

This extra traffic and better search engine optimization is what will lead you to making more profits.

The Psychology of Blogging

By Antonio Seegars

Did you know that for some people blogging is what they consider to be their full time job. And I'm not talking about the people that sell products or have ads running on their blogs. I'm talking about people that don't make any money on from there blog. But still spend hours upon thinking up content and posting it for there users to read.

Before blogging became popular, a political activist favorite tool was a picket sign(sometimes a firebomb, but that's a different conversation), now activist are changing the world with blogs, even the Taliban has a blog!

So what make blogs so popular? It's not like they offer stunning visuals, or are places to go to play the latest games on the internet.

The key to blogs popularity is the interaction between bloggers and there visitors. Blogs encourage conversation and give everybody a powerful voice. No matter what they look like, or what there occupation is in life, anybody can become a star with a blog.

That's why young teenage girls everywhere who don't feel like they get enough attention are starting blogs. Blogs give them a place to express there opinions and become the center of attention. Even if there just raving and ranting about there favorite singer they can still build up an audience.

But blogs aren't only used by people looking to change things in there lives or others for the good. Blogs can also be used as an evil tool to viciously tear down people. Almost all celebrity gossip originates somewhere on a blog. Whether it's true or not doesn't matter to some bloggers, they just do whatever they can to draw visitors to the blogs. So if that means ruining somebodies image, then so be it.

A good blog on the other hand, can add value to a persons life everyday. Numerous self-help blogs provide there visitors with helpful tips to make there everyday life better. And some people even credit blogs with saving there lives.

It's this kind of "one-on-one" interaction in blogs that is making them the dominant force on the internet. With a blog, the owner of it can interact directly with visitors in real time. And they can use there blog like a traditional website. But on a website you would have to install a forum in order to interact with your visitors in real time.

How Do I Start Blogging? Get the Answer Here!

By Antonio Seegars

Blogging started out as a way for computer "savvy" people to express ideas. Nobody could have predicted how popular it would become. Blogs are now used for everything that websites are used for and more.

With blogs you can express your ideas, share pictures, share videos, expand your business, generate extra income, cause rifts in the entertainment world(Perez Hilton for example), and much more. That's why everybody wants a blog.

If your a beginner to blogging the best thing to start with is Blogger. After you get a little experience you can switch to Wordpress if you want to become a power blogger.

Starting a blog with Blogger is a easy process. All you have to do is go to Blogger.com and click the sign up button and follow the steps. If you use Gmail you won't have to worry about creating a username and password for your blogging account unless you want to.

When you start a blog with Blogger, they own the hosting space that it's on so you don't get your own domain name. When you name your blog it will show like this in internet browers - yourblogname.blogspot.com. But that shouldn't stop you from picking a good name for your blog.

The name of your blog should coincide with the subject matter of your blog. That way nobody is confused when they view it.

After you name your blog you have to choose a look for it. Blogger offers a lot of templates for you to choose from to design your blog around and later on if you decide that you don't like the look of your blog you can change it.

Once your template is chosen your finished. All you have to do now is provide your blog with content.

Effective Blog Advertising Methods Explained

By Antonio Seegars

Visitor traffic is the single most important factor when it comes to making money online. Good advertising can make almost any venture profitable. If you don't advertise your blog effectively you won't generate any profits regardless of the quality of the product your offering.

Good advertising first begins with search engine optimizing your blog. Your blog should contain good keywords based on the subject of your blog. And if your hosting your blog on you own domain, make sure the html meta tags on your website contain all of the keywords used to describe the subject of your blog. This will help search engines find it.

After you've build your blog for maximum search engine optimization. You next need to build backlinks to it. Backlinks are links from other websites linking to your blog. You can go around posting links to your blog on forums in your signature, but the most effective way to build backlinks to your blog is to submit your blog post to article directories with a link back to your blog. Not only will article directories give you automatic backlinks, but whenever somebody uses one of your articles for content on there website you'll get another backlink.

Another very important, but often overlooked factor of blog advertising ss frequent blog updates. Search engines actively search for new content every hour, so the more you update your blog the more they crawl through your blog. And this will increase your search engine ranking.

Once you build up a good amount on content, you can start submitting your blog to social bookmarking sites. A lot of people make the mistake of submitting there sites to social bookmarking sites without having enough content or good enough content to satisfy the people that they want to visit there blog. Remember, people looking to bookmark blogs want blogs with lots of content to satisfy there needs and provide them with useful information.

If you combine all of the things in this article to your blog practices you'll generate a steady amount of traffic and increased income.

Blogging Tutorial - How to Make Money Blogging

By Antonio Seegars

Using a Favicon on Your Blog

By John Motson

One of the most important facets of professional blogging and blogging for profit is keeping your blog in order. Professional bloggers will tell you this includes making sure that your blog design is immaculate as a quality blog design helps build stamp a mark of authority in your blog niche.

Trivial as it may seem to some, a lot of people fail to use a favicon to improve the design of their blog. A favicon (also know as a website/blog shortcut icon) is an icon associated with a blog or website. Browsers that support favicons display them in their URL.

A favicon (file extension .ico) appears as follows in your blog html:

People add a favicon to their blog in order to improve its overall memorability. When I visit a new website and I like it, I add it to my bookmarks. Days later when I browse through my bookmarks it is a lot easier to find a bookmark if it was marked with a cool favicon as a favicon makes a bookmark stand out. You can create a favicon for free at favicon.cc.

To add a favicon to your blog you can edit your blog theme's header.php file or if you are not proficient with coding you can install DigitalRamble's Fav Icon Manager plugin.

In general though, you should use a favicon on your blog, website or forum to help build your overall brand and help make your resource more memorable. I certainly make sure all my forums, blogs and website sport a favicon.

Keeping Track of Blog Stats

By John Motson

In order to professionally run a blog for business or profit you need to be aware of all facets of your day to day blog running.

An important facet of your day to day blogging are your blog statistics. It is imperative that you are constantly aware of your statistics and are making an effort to tweak and adjust various blog segments in order to optimize and maximize your blog traffic.

I like to look at my blog stats from time to time not only to satisfy a basic curiosity but also so I can better determine the type of traffic my blog receives and the parts of my blog I need to improve in order to get more traffic!

I use a tool provided by Google called Google Analytics which allows me to combine the power of WordPress with the detail the Google Analytics stats system provides. Personally though, I don't think that's enough stats for me so on top of that, I also use the WordPress.com Stats plugin because the WordPress.com Stats plugin lets me view my stats in real time while updates of Google Analytics stats lag behind a bit.

I find it hard to wait for my Google Analytics stats - even though they provide a lot of detail - so I turn to the trusty Wordpress.com stats plugin as a source of extra information.

By the way, stats analysis can be a fun thing to do, but be careful not to overdo it. Some bloggers get addicted to checking their stats every five minutes and never get any work done.

Blogging is a Great Way to Increase Website Traffic

By Dennis Francis

If you want to drive more free traffic to your website or squeeze page, you need to start blogging. If you have not started blogging, then plan on installing blogging software in the next right away! This is one of the top five ways to increase website traffic.

I suggest that you write on a subject you know very well and are willing to continue researching. You'll be searching for more interesting tidbits on your niche to keep your readers happy and engaged.

Write in blocks of 200 to 500 words and keep the material light and informative. The entries should be welcomed by the new readers and familiar to your ongoing subscribers. Remember if you want to increase website traffic to your website, you can bring recurring readers to your blog. One great way to do that is to involve the reader and encourage comments. This will cause people to come back for more.

Once or twice a month, you can come up with a list of even longer articles that will be of interest to your subscribers and prospects. Plan on publishing one article a week; at least. This can help generate a lot of natural traffic for you.

Get involved in about 10 blogs within your niche and write comments to them regularly. Write about topics that interests you and start reading and commenting on them regularly in the comments section. You don't have to plug your websites in your comments that's the fast way to being banned. You won't be able to increase website traffic by spamming to forums; that will kill your credibility. You will have a space to ad your website and you can relax and just be yourself.

As you go through forums and blogs, be on the look out for ways to create tools. If someone is complaining about a problem that does not have a real solution, that might your first tool.

One of the great things about contributing is the link-backs. The amount of link-backs you will receive, in addition to the recognition and in some cases fan base; will build a steady stream of website traffic to your site. Come up with a list of 20 blog topics that you can write about. This will give you the push when you need to come up with subjects to write about.

If you want to kick start your blog subscribers get a shot in the arm with Pay Per Click ads. You can do it for a short time to get traffic. That traffic will subscribe to your blog or click through to your website from the ads located on your blog. You can monetize your blog in the same manner that you would any other website. Using Google AdSense, you can pay for your website fees each month and have some spare change.

In the end, blogging will not only increase website traffic, it will also bring you additional income as well. Get a blog set up on your web server today.

Blog - 7 Fast Ways to Build Content

By Angela Booth

Blogs demand content. Are you running out of ideas? This article will give you seven ways to build content for your blog.

1. Read Forums in Your Niche

No matter what topic your blog covers, there are forums in your niche. Scan them each day, and take note of discussions, and questions asked. Forums keep you abreast of new ideas. Take the time establish yourself in at least one forum. Becoming a trusted forum member will attract readers to your blog.

2. Keep a Running List of Questions

I have many blogs, so I keep a content file for each one. Whenever someone asks me a question on a blog's topic, I make a note of the question so I can add it to the content file. I also write questions which occur to me into a small notebook; each night, I copy the questions my blogs' content files.

Question are useful because they trigger your thinking. Each question can lead to several blog posts over the course of a year or two.

3. Read Your Referrer Logs

Read your blog's referrer logs at least once a week. What search terms did visitors enter into one of the search engines? Copy the search terms into your blog's content file.

4. Write Way-Back Posts when Your Blog's a Year Old

Time passes, and suddenly your blog is one year old. Because blogs are structured chronologically new visitors are unaware of the great content you've posted in the past. Not you can write "One Year Ago Today" and "One Year Ago This Month" posts, linking to great content they've missed.

5. Write Series - You Can Keep Them Running for Years

I love series, because you can keep them going as long as you wish.

Here are three ideas for series:

* 100 Ways To ________

* 99 __________ Tips

* 25 Things You Need to Know About _________

Tip: When you start a series, keep track of them in your content file, copying the URL of each new item into your file. It's easy to forget about a series, even if you only have one blog.

6. Read Comments on Your Own and Others' Blogs

You do read other blogs in your area, don't you? Others' blogs can spark ideas for content. Read the comments on blogs, and comment yourself when you can add to a conversation.

7. Write Draft Posts

At the start of each week, I create several new posts for each blog. Each post may only contain the post's title, and five or six sentences. I then save each post as a draft. When it's time to complete the draft, it usually only takes me ten to fifteen minutes, because I already know what I want to say.

Syndicate Kahuna - Stress Relief For Blog Owners

By Terry Schierer

Syndicate Kahuna means a breath of fresh air for owners of blogs. As you know the big drawback or the big killer of blogs is fresh content. Lots of fresh content delivered daily or at least two to three times a week.

Just starting a blog is no problem. The ideas abound and come out like streams of mountain water, pure and clean. Then the stream narrows, ideas become smaller and smaller and the water is not so clean anymore. Soon the ideas dry up and you really have to get out the shovel and dig to find water.

If you have reached the digging point then you know it's not fun anymore. It's a job, and that's what you were trying to avoid by doing internet marketing. The dreaded J word.

Freedom is the internet marketers dream. Freedom to do what you want, when you want and where you want. Yet most internet marketers start a blog or ten blogs and start writing, then they learn about keyword research, so now before writing they do keyword research which constitutes another job. This is becoming fun isn't it?

Well that's the way it is today but the good news is there is a breath of fresh air about to sweep through the internet marketing and blogging communities that will once again allow you to stand up and proudly exclaim "Take This Job And Shove It"

The doors just opened on a new source of unique quality free content that will be posted right to your blog. That's right posted right to your blog where you have the option of letting the post happen automatic or you can have the post put in a Que for your quality review.

Now if you're stuck in the content writing JOB that is sure to make your feet go a dancing, not only yours but your spouse and kids feet also. After all that is the marketers dream, more family time, yet truth be known if you're building a marketing presence, family time is few and far between.

Not only will the post be fresh new content it will be keyword rich. Just the kind of post to give your blog monetization a kick, which means more money for you.

You are probably wondering how much is this going to set you back. The total out of pocket cost to you, the blog owner, is zilch, nada. That's right the owners of good quality blogs will get to use the service for free. That is a bargain!

Now you probably have a lot of questions and this is not the place to go into all the questions so if you will head on over to Syndicate Kahuna-facts we will try our best to give you all the information you need to make an informed decision on whether Syndicate Kahuna is the answer you have been hoping for.

15 Links on Your Blog Which Decrease Page Rank

By Louis Liem

Whatever your opinion to PageRank , the higher it is, the better it will effect your blog. Especially if we concern much about PR, we have been busy in our effort to get the highest boost of PageRank in the next update. A lot of effort has gone into it, hours of creating contents, dropping comments, introducing ourselves and articles which probably spend numerous countless nights.

However, let us not forget that in order to make those link building attempts effective, we need to tweak some parts of our blog as well (some of us may find more things to optimize than others.

I'm talking about how your blog/site carries and distributes link juice it receives from another blog/site. There's one matter you need to know: patch the holes and pass on the flows.

Imagine there are 100 do follow links pointing to your front page. And on the page, you link to your individual articles, categories, date archives, tag clouds, policy page, and of course your feed subscription link. Between all those pages, which one will be the most suitable to rank the highest on the search engine result pages (SERP)? I'm sure you agree that it's the individual post pages. You don't need your policy page to rank #1 on SERP more than your featured post, do you?

You can start re-arranging how your blog handles links by adding no follow to internal pages you don't need them to appear on search engines. Or at least, you don't need them to rank high. Internal links to consider are:

  1. the link to your own homepage - people say the more links pointing to a certain page, the higher the page will rank. It's true...if the link comes from a different domain.

  2. your feed link - some of you may disallow your feed to be indexed. This way, there's no use to link them with dofollow since search engines won't list them. If no one will see it, no use to dress it. If for any reasons you allow indexing of your feed, nofollow is still needed. Unless you want to generously flow your hard earned gold links to Feedburner or Feedblitz which they already abundantly have.

  3. your tag cloud, date and category based archive - I set my robots.txt to block search engines from indexing those pages. That's why, for the same reasons as above, links to them don't need to be dofollowed.

  4. your policy page - Simply put, there's still a lot of thirsty new articles gasping for fresh link juice.

  5. your sitemap page - You don't need to have your sitemap indexed if you have submitted it to search engines. Less pages indexed means you can feed more articles the dofollow links.

  6. links to your authors page - Some of you may need the authors page to get a good SERP. Some who don't can no-follow these links.

  7. links to edit your post - Definitely no-follow in my opinion.

  8. links to categories archive - It also depends on if you'd like the categories archive page to hit the #1 page of Google or prioritizing the individual posts. I myself prefer my individual posts rather than categories archive pages.

  9. links to the comment section - It's useful for navigation, but I suggest to address them no-follow.

  10. page numbers navigation - If your categories archive is divided into multiple pages and you don't follow links to your category archives, then you need to follow it up by no-following page number links.

  11. subscribe to comments links - Usually they point to your feed service. But if they go to your own feed address, you can no-follow them for the same reason as #2

  12. links to enlarged pictures - Some of you may value pictures higher for your topic/niche, so the decision depends on your purposes with those pictures.

  13. blogroll...? - The decision is completely up to you. But don't let them know what you're doing.

  14. links to popular pages - like Google.com, Facebook.com, you name them. Again, the decision is yours. If you feel like giving them a credit, do so.

  15. commentator names - Depends on whether you're following your commentators or not, you can always switch the to no-follow/do-follow.

Before looking for more links to no-follow, I'd like to remind you of links you should follow . Not much, they are supposed to be your theme author link, your blogroll (depends on you), links your posts are referring to (if any) and sites/blogs inspire your posts.

Hopefully before applying further link-building strategy , you can provide some time to analyze your link flows and optimize them to get the best results.

The Best Blogging Secret I Ever Learned I Learned in a Blog, Go Figure

By Kevin D Browne

The best blogging suggestion I can give you is something you may already know. But it bears repeating. Blogs attached to your domain are your #1 way to dominate the keywords in your niche.

Let's say you're a local painting company. You have a website, and have been told (correctly) to throw up a blog and to contribute to it DAILY.

Why? Aren't you up to your ears in paint after a long day. Haven't you had it with colors and brushes and the fact that several of your guys keep falling off ladders?

You contribute to your blog AFTER you do some keyword research because when you do (and that research can be done for free) you can 'own' all of the keywords that will enable local customers to find you.

"Affordable Painting In San Diego."

"Chicago's Best Local Painters."

"Local Denver Painting Companies That Are Fast."

Those are all single keywords. Those are all opportunities for you to own those keywords as you contribute to your blog using those keywords on a daily basis. PS...using a Free Wordpress blog will increase your results dramatically...but that's just between you and me.

In effect, blogging correctly and religiously is like give hungry Google what it wants...because people are typing in those search terms! And it is the job of a search engine to find the results for those people. And if you contribute enough of them to your blog and make the search engines' lives easier, you get higher and higher rankings.

Higher and higher rankings mean you get more and more traffic.

More and more traffic mean you get the OPPORTUNITY to make more and more sales.

It is at this exact stage of your best blogging practices that you take a further step, a step that I am now teaching to hundreds of other web owners. And it is this next step that takes your online businesses to heights you could not imagine.

Heights those guys who keep falling off ladders would NEVER get to.

Blogging For Success and Making Money Online

By Katarzyna Greco

Blogging for success could be the mode to describe your easy start into the big world of online business and internet marketing strategies.

Blogging for Success is also training at the same time. Each time that you post a blog, you will receive a training on the three main aspects of your business:

1) The product or service you offer;

2) The Internet Tools that you use versus the others available;

3) The Online Business Evolution; a very fast moving and changing business environment where it is not always easy to keep up the pace.

Writing about your product or service, you have to think about the product or service you offer. You will want to enlighten it from different perspectives to attract new customers. You might find new ways to market your product or service simply by writing regularly about it and elaborating any comments you might get.

Another important source of information for your blog, to be a successful marketing machine, is to visit competitors' blogs and sites and identify there what comments customers (that eventually are also your potential new clients) leave there. If clients like the other services due to a specific format, tool or whatever it might be, evaluate the possibility of implementing it yourself as well, of adapting your service and offering, or maybe only the wording of any of your announcements or ads.

On the other side it is your blog that will start, if you write regularly your posts, bringing you traffic to your site, free traffic! Having and feeding a blog is an enormous opportunity for driving massive traffic to your site. It is an easy-to-go method out of so many available in the vast world of online marketing.

By being on Google, or simply online you will be always informed on new techniques and strategies, on AdWords offers and Search Engine Optimization Tools. You will get hundreds of mails and notes on new studies and offers. This does absolutely not mean that you will need to get all of them or study them one by one. This will give you the important background information of having heard about, ready for the day your customers or your competitor's clients start asking for it. It is part of competitive advantage that you can earn here through knowledge and interest.

As it comes to Google and all the other search engines, they like new content and they like to know that you and your site are active regularly and not just then and now. There are six points, one the normal consequence of the previous one, that make your blog a success for you:

  1. Show Google and all the search engines - by blogging regularly, meaning that you post a minimum of two entries a week - that your Blog is always actual, which they like and which will lead to

  2. A better placing at Google and therefore

  3. More impressions, meaning how often people have seen your ads, your links to your blog

  4. More clicks , meaning

  5. More visitors,

  6. And so on, and you know the story, as it goes on!
