The Top 3 Ways to Make Money Blogging

By Tracey A Edwards

So you've decided you'd like to cash in on the blogging phenomenon. After all if everyone from celebrity's right down to your next door neighbor can do it it can't be that hard right?

So whether you already have a blog, or are thinking about starting one, here are my top three ways to make money by blogging.

1. AdSense Ads

This is the easiest way to start cashing in from your blog because it's just a small matter of adding some code to your page. You'll first need to get an account with Google AdSense and they will want to see that you are already providing some decent content for their search engine.

If you already have a blog that you've been writing in then you can submit your blog URL, but if you have yet to start then it's always a good idea to write three or four posts on your blog before you apply.

Once you are approved it's just a matter of adding the code they give you to your blog and ads will start appearing in very soon after.

2. Affiliate Products

Recommending other peoples products is a great way to start earning some real cash if you don't have your own product line.

Find an affiliate program that is related to the subject matter on your blog and write a review about a product that you like.

The most popular affiliate programs to join are

a) ClickBank which has lots of downloadable products on a variety of subjects.

b) eBay which has thousands of different products; and

c) Amazon which is trusted worldwide and has everything from books to electronic equipment.

3. Your Own Products

You can even promote your own products or services directly from your blog. Do you make cushion covers? Or perhaps you are great at writing articles like this one? You can sell any number of things from your blog.

How to Blog So You Can Win Friends and Influence People

By Tracey A Edwards

Starting a blog is rarely because you have a burning need to type your thoughts down. That's what diaries are for. No, when you start a blog it is usually for a specific purpose whether that is to keep in touch with friends or family, make some money or get your opinion heard online.

So what is your purpose for blogging?

1. to Win Friends and Influence People

Blogging is one of the best platforms for stating your opinions to the world. Want to connect with people who are on the same wave length as you? Blogging about things that matter to you can get your posts listed in the search engines so other people can find you.

When they find you, you've made a connection. They might write a comment in your blog, get in contact with you or tell their friends about your blog.

You can also try and influence people to your way of thinking by providing answers backed up by evidence (even if that evidence is your experiences). People love reading about how other people handled different situations and you could become an expert in your field by writing about things you know.

2. to Keep in Touch With Friends and Family

Usually travelers will start a blog so they can post pictures and stories of their adventures. Blogging about your travels is much faster and more efficient than writing letters or sending postcards to everyone you know, especially if your group of friends is large.

Family album type blogs are also becoming popular with families as they post pictures and stories about their children so grandma and grandpa can watch them grow.

3. to Make Money

While only a handful of people set out to start a blog for the sole purpose of cashing in, many people come to realize just how profitable they can be once they start seeing a steady stream of traffic come their way.

Making money blogging is a matter of learning how to create the right headlines and bring in loads of traffic to your blog so they can click on your ads and products. You can learn to make money blogging with Blog Cash.

Use Bogs to Their Full Marketing Potential

By Surjeet Kumarr

As an Internet capitalist, you're more than likely aware of the ability of blogs to increase the bottom line of your e-business. Most everyone who sells online, either their product or someone else's, or runs a blog that they have monetized with ads from Google AdSense or some other source does some kind of blog advertising because it is free and eventually gets indexed by the search engines. However, there are a few ways that you can really use blogs to enhance your business online, and these tips can be used whether you are selling products on your own site or simply running your own monetized blog.

The first thing you need to think about when generating new blog entries is "how do people know that I have any/new content available here?" Think of it is an declaration to the world through Really Simple Syndication that an update has been made to your blog and everyone should come and check it out. These updates are then posted on thousands of other websites and seen by people who are watching the site feeds for up to date news. This benefits you in two ways: First, it gets automatic traffic flowing into your site and second many sites will carry your blog post creating one-way links to your web site.

However, doing so manually can be slow and very time consuming. There are many major RSS feeds available online, and posting your blog to each one each time can take forever. Fortunately, there is an easy way to automate it; a little piece of software called RSS Announcer.

The next important part of running a blog is always having new and fresh content for visitors to check out. When someone comes to your site or your blog, you want them to keep coming back, and one of the best ways to do that is to constantly update content. The problem is that even the most prolific of writers can't write more than one or two articles a day, and if you start running several blogs the amount of writing can quickly become overwhelming.

If you're running a blog about Mortgages, instead of continuously writing new content for your blog, you can automate the posting of Mortgage information to your blog every day, several times a day. How does this benefit you as a blog owner? First, it relieves the burden of having to come up with so much original content by yourself. Second, it will send a "ping" to all the blog directories on every new post alerting them of new content at your blog. Third, if you are running a website relating to your blog, you can post the URL's of different pages of your website in your blog content, and those pages will quickly be indexed by the various search engines.

The last problem is that of link building. We all know that one of the keys to a long term search engine optimization Plan is high quality link building. This can include reciprocal links, purchased one-way links with related web sites, or even free links with unrelated websites. Many search engine experts agree that having some links, even if they're from sites totally unrelated to your own, are better than no links at all. Links to your site are like "votes" that the search engines see as your site containing real content

Now, you're probably scratching your head and wondering "what does that last paragraph have to do with blogs?" Well, once again a piece of software comes to our rescue to automate our link building. It is called Blog Link Generator and can be used to quickly create hundreds or thousands of one-way links from blogs relating to your website. It does this by searching for blogs relating to keywords that you input, and automatically posting to those blogs with a message from you and a link to your website.

So as you can see, there are several ways you can add to the power of blogs to bring more revenue to your e-business. Whether it is getting more people to know about your site or simply automating tasks that would normally consume too much time, software products are available to free up that time so you can get to the business of doing more business.

How to Stay on Top of Blog Marketing News

By Stephen Ng Kai

Many people take blog marketing seriously but if you follow the industry closely and make most of your living off of blogs, you know how important it is to stay on top of all the blog marketing news. Known as Internet logs, blogs can be used for many things, including promotion, journaling and, at times, simply putting your opinion on the web. Using a blog as a tool is a great idea because people love reading blogs and enjoy reading the opinions and views of others. Chances are, if you're a blog owner yourself, you're also an avid blog reader because you can appreciate other people's opinions and views. Whether a blog revolves around a product, service, hobby or news, it's likely to be read by many since so many people love blogs.

Blog marketing will only be difficult if you make it difficult. A blog is marketed the same way you'd market a website but blog marketing is a little less expensive than actually owning a website. Most of the time, when you purchase a domain, you don't own it for life but for a certain number of years. You can own the domain for one year, two years, three years, etc. However, if you start a blog, you don't have to pay any of that money up front and there is also no monthly fee for hosting, which you would have if you owned a website. Because there are so many free blog options available on the Internet, it's not necessary to actually pay for one.

It's smart to keep up with blogging news if you're blog marketing so that you're familiar with all the new tools and techniques available to bloggers. There are several promotion and tracking tools that will help you to keep track of your blog and market it to others. Each time a new tool or technique is introduced into the industry, it's going to be discussed in blogging news so you'll be able to keep up with all the other bloggers.

Blog marketing news will not only keep you informed about new technologies, but you'll also be able to stay up-to-date with revisions to old tools you use as well. For instance, pinging your blog may no longer be good for the blog and, if you don't keep up with blog marketing news, how are you supposed to know that? Staying informed not only helps you find out about new technologies, but old ones as well.

You can find blog marketing news anywhere on the Internet where you'd go to search for website marketing news. This news is also often times blogged about, so you won't need to go far to find the kind of information you want. You can read about new advances in some of the blogs you may already read and, since it's a blogger doing the writing, you'll get their views on these new tools and techniques as well.

Staying on top of blog marketing is very important since you're likely to generate new ideas for your own blog. You can never tell when the next big thing will be introduced in to the blog marketing world so always keep your eyes out to stay on top.

Content, Keywords and Blogs - I Provoke You to Learn More!

By Richard Weberg

The information I am about to expose to you literally helped my home business and income explode! Unfortunately I had to learn it the hard way and it took me two years to fully understand. I don't claim to have all the answers, I just hope you will take this advice, and learn MORE about it. You have to be willing to learn and make mistakes if you ever want to be successful on the internet. Building a home business online is no easy task, their will be plenty of potholes and struggles that will present themselves along the way. What will make the difference in whether you succeed or fail online will be your ability to apply information learned, and your ability to adapt and change. So all I can do here is provide you with some information and provoke you to learn more. Ultimately it will be up to you, what you do with it. The subjects I want to provoke you to learn more about are content, keywords, and Blogs.

1. On the Internet content is king and always will be. This is because the Internet is the information superhighway and most people use it for information of some sort. The information on a website is its content. Generally the more useful and interesting content a website has the more successful it will be. This is because more people will want to visit it again and again, this is especially true if a website is constantly adding more and more content on a regular basis be it blogs, articles, tutorials, news and opinion or whatever. Search engines love sites that are constantly adding fresh content, they tend to spider those sites more often. Some websites add so much content to their site they get spidered almost daily! An example is Backpage.com, you can place an ad on their site and sometimes it will be indexed the very next day. So my advice to you is learn more about content and ways of adding fresh content to your site and if you don't own your own website, advertise on websites that ad content daily! This will get your ads indexed by the search engines very quickly.

2. Next up is keywords and how to use them. Whenever you post to forums, blogs, link exchanges, ezines, ad boards, ffa list or any other type of site you submit your ads or articles too, make sure you put your keywords for your site in your title and description! If you only have an affiliate site ask the owner of the program for the keywords he uses to list the site or use a keyword tool from overture or wordtracker to find keywords and phrases that people would use to find your site. Your keywords should also be used in the title and body of any articles you submit for publication on other websites. Search engines love content and it should be keyword RICH, I can not emphasize this enough.

This will not only get your websites indexed faster but it will also get your ads and articles indexed for your keywords! It will also create thousands of links in the search engines, are you starting to understand? Post your ads and articles on sites with lots of fresh content. Search engines crawl these sites sometimes daily, I have had ads get indexed by Google overnight! Backpage.com is one of the many types of sites that get crawled almost daily, because their is fresh content being added everyday. I know I am repeating myself here, but I do not want you to forget this! learn as much as you can about keywords and how to use them to get your ads indexed.

3. Marketing and Blogs? Yes! Blogs have fresh content, and remember content is King. A blog is a frequent, online publication of comments, web links and news. It is an online ezine of sorts. People maintained blogs long before the term was coined, but the trend gained momentum with automated published systems, most notably is blogger.com. Thousands of people use services such as Blogger alone. Blogs are pure information! Here is another hint START A BLOG, search engines Love Blogs! Post fresh content to it regularly, you can even get a free Blog from Google. Blogs are the marketing and information trend of the future, don't get left behind! Learn as much as you can about blogs and how to use them and get started right away blogging, it is the future.

To give you an example, the first two years I was on the internet doing business I would go to Google once a week and do a search for my sites. The most links I ever had was around 35, my sales were slow and I only made a few hundred dollars in income a month( I was frustrated). So I started learning as much as I could about marketing on the internet, my focus was on content, keywords, and blogs because this is what most webmasters seemed to talk about in their articles and news letters. After I applied this new knowledge my links in the search engines started growing by the hundreds a week, my income also started growing! My ads and articles started showing up on all kinds of other sites, this is free viral marketing! See if you learn these three topics well everything else will fall into place. I believe these three topics are the key to all marketing on the internet because you can apply these to everything you do, whether it is email marketing, website design, article distribution, gaining incoming links, or placing ads.

In closing please remember this their is no magic bullet on the internet, no one method that will make you a millionaire. Don't believe the hype, even though we use hype to sell, keep everything in perspective your not going to get rich overnight. Everyone's learning curve will be different, so learn as much as you can about marketing on the internet and treat your home business like you would treat any brick and mortar business. Just because you work from home doesn't mean it should be any less important to you. The last thing is never quit, it takes time to make the internet work for you. It will work if you don't quit. A lot of people think that if they sign up for an advertising system on the internet, that it will work over night. It doesn't work that way. I signed up for a message system one time for advertising one of my websites, it took four months before I seen the results, but it was sure worth the wait, patience and persistence is the key. I wish everyone success in all that you do.

Blogging - Naming Your Blog

By Pauline Young

This is one of the more creative parts of a blog Selecting a suitable blog name can be fun and imaginative. Not everyone has a domain name from a website, but if you do include this in the thoughts for your blog name. Remembering even just a little thing like naming your blog this is how your readers find you.

I associate my blog with the learning process of making money on the Internet, creating an income. Blogging plays a major roll in this part for me.

Naming your blog should portray your tone and your content. Let me show you an example, lets say Julie wanted to name her blog and really she did not use much imagination and chose a simple name like "Julie's Blog". Now maybe this is a true and accurate name, but does it give you any indication what the blog is about? Now Julie really wanted to talk about her dogs. Julie has the cutest dogs and loves them so much that she wants to share her photos etc with the world. A more accurate Blog Name would be "Julie's Cute Dog Images Blog", or to shorten "Julie's K-9 Images" or "Cute K-9 Blog". You could really let your imagination have fun with this one. This then becomes shorter more memorable, brief, easy to spell and describes the subject matter. Then add a few good tags at the end like dog photos, cute dogs, cute dog photos etc. Readers looking for cute dog photos etc will have their day lifted with these beautiful photos of Julie's dogs.

Whatever you choose for your Blog Name, remember it is permanent. Changing the name of your blog later on can be confusing for your readers, it wreaks havoc on any of your links and your credibility does not follow the new name.

Make sure your blog name is not already in use, so do some searches, as this also can be confusing for your readers. Please do not choose a name that can be an alter-ego "Julie Queen of Cute Dog photos" or alienating your readers by having a weird names like "Harry's Big Hairy Toe" not the best way to find Harry's Blog who likes writing about his collection of Roses. Harry's hairy toe can be funny for some, but it in many cases would be a site that would not make many readers want to read past the Title.

On your first Blog you may not have it all exactly the way you want everything, and you find that after writing your first blog you had an epiphany and the most fantastic name for your blog pops into your head. By all means start a new blog with the new title and re-write your blog to the new name, but once you start attracting an audience changes are not recommended. So if you have to change your blog name, do it early before your readers are established.

Please choose your Blog Name carefully and thoughtfully. Plan for your Blog Name to be along-term commitment. So use your imagination and have fun Blogging!

Blogging - Discovering Comments

By Pauline Young

Interaction with your readers is what makes the difference between a website and a blog. To be able to converse with readers is an opportunity that purely website owners normally do not have the pleasure. Visitors to your blog have the opportunity to leave comments. Sometimes these comments are purely replying to your blog, or a suggestion or just a question for you to answer. Always make sure that you respond to any comments that require a response.

You can open the comments page by clicking on the comments tab. You will be opened to a new page. You can have your comments set to be checked first before you allowed them to be published. This is the preferred way, as there are plenty of not so nice people out there that always have the need to comment in very negative ways. After a comment is made it will be displayed in the comments section of your blog. The comment will usually have a label displaying the writers name and the date and time posted.

Not every blog allows comments, you can have your settings set for this, and normally this is not the case unless the site gains so much popularity that the comments are overwhelmed by the sheer volume. I would recommend that you leave your comments turned on, as comments are the easiest way to learn and improve the content of your blog. Gaining valuable feedback about your blog is the best way to also involve your audience in your topic.

Unfortunately there is one draw back and that is spammers. They can take advantage of comments as easily as sending unwanted e-mail. Keeping comments on will always attract spammers, so set your settings to screen comments first. Spammers use your blog as a way of advertising their products with links etc. Some times these can be offensive, so beware. Just delete the inappropriate comments before publishing. You audience will appreciate your comments being of clean content.

Blogging - Creating A Topic For Profit

By Pauline Young

Planning a successful blog is the most important step before launching. You have to treat your blog as a business if you want to earn an income.

You would never start a McDonald's Franchise without planning first. A business plan to map out the profitability and goals before you begin.

A successful blog needs to have a good recipe.

Ingredients:

-1 large scoop of setting your goals

-1 cup or 2 of good writing content

-Stir until smooth with regular updates

-Topped with a good source of revenue

-And serve generously to your reading audience

Blogs can be very quick to set up and start, especially if you have just enough of all the right ingredients, you will be able to accomplish a successful blog.

The topic you choose should have some public interest. You must consider that you would like to earn an income, so stick to the facts. Brainstorm several different topics and try to see which topic you get a response from. Research you topic and observe other blogs, it will help to get you started.

You really need a mass audience, so concentrate on your blog having mass appeal. A political blog can become a very popular blog, but most political issues are centered around a local area, so they can be limited. You may consider a blog about your favourite actor/actress. Especially someone that has been in the headlines lately. The bigger the star, the more we want to read about them. We have a natural curiosity.

Commit yourself to writing frequently. Now frequently could be described by one person as daily, but to someone else it could be three times a day. Try and pace yourself so that you keep it interesting. Do not force content and never copy work by other writers. Techniques and styles can be learned from other writers, but plagiarism is not cool.

Just as important as attracting traffic, so is the need for correct spelling and grammar. We may love to write, and we cannot all be English Teachers. Poorly written, misspelled or bad grammar will define the quality standard of your blogs.

Creating regular traffic is the first step to setting a successful path for a regular income.

Start Internet Marketing Business With a Blog

By Paul Liew

If you would like to start your internet marketing business, without having a domain with web hosting service, you might need to start with a free and simple way - blog.

With the appearance of Web2.0 or Weblog, in short Blog, every one can have his own webpage, without paying for the web hosting service. The only difference is you still do not have the full ownership like owning a domain. Nevertheless, blog still enable user to write, upload picture and video.

To start, you may need to consider which type of blog service you like. I would like to only introduce 3 here - blogger, wordpress and typepad.

Blogger is one of the most common and easiest blog service to start off with, it is owned by Google, once you sign in your Google account, you will automatically sign in to your blogger account as well. It is simple to use, with all plug and play method, you can master the art of blogging within few hours.

Wordpress is a more advance version blog service, just like blogger, you can easily choose any template you like. The concept is just like blogger, add your widgets with plug and play method. Nevertheless, Wordpress enable you to upgrade to better feature, like custom CSS, more storage space, unlimited private user and etc with small amount of cost. You can have your blog parking at your domain address from Wordpress as well.

Last to mention - Type Pad, though it is not free service like the above two, it comes with great services and unique feature. Typepad has its own SEO - search engine optimized technique that make your blog easily found by searcher, you can measure your blog traffic without using a third party counter, and typepad is partnered with Amazon, eBay and Pay pal to make you earn money faster through blogging.

That's all, make your choice and start making money through blogging! Always blog with your passion!

Blogging For Business Or Fun?

By Paul Barksdale

To blog or not to blog. This is the question so many Internet users have to decide today. It seems that blogging has taken over the web and if you don't have a blog, well, you certainly must get one because everyone else has one. Right?

Well, not so fast. Blogging can be used as a business builder as well as a way of getting the word out about your favorite subject or political opinion. If you're using blogging for fun, then go ahead and start a blog and have some fun with it. But if you're using it for business purposes, the whole blogging thing takes on a different meaning.

For a blog to be used to promote or further you're business it must be kept fresh and up to date with current topics. It must be full of good content that will keep your readers coming back for more. You need to be creative in your approach to your readers and make it so interesting that they cannot help but subscribe to your syndication feed so they don't miss anything. It must also be filled with keyword rich content in order to get you the proper traffic.

Of course you should always stay on target with your blog. By that I mean if you're writing a blog about affiliate marketing, then stay focused on that subject and don't get off course on car parts or where you spent your summer. Save those topics for the fun blogs you create.

Keeping up with a blog can be real work so it really helps if your blog is about something you are passionate about. If you approach it in this way, it want seem so much like work. Instead you will be enjoying writing about things that really interest you and can soon develop a real following.

When done properly, blogging can not only bring you the traffic you are looking for, but also a lot of satisfaction along with a boost to your business profits. Just remember, it makes a world of difference in writing a blog that you enjoy verses a blog that you have to force yourself to write.

How to Make Your Blog Survive the Latest Blogging Fads

It seems that every few years there is some kind of product or service that promises to make you tons of money or get you indexed by Google in just a few days. Most of these ebooks or guides overpromise and under deliver. You've probably been burned by one, two, or three of these so called "step-by-step" guides because the information was either to elementary or it was too complex.

Let me break down the steps that you need to take to make your blog survive and even thrive through all of the blogging fads that arise.

Step #1 - Focus on content. Content has to be the #1 priority of your blog and you need to write about what you know. Just by writing about what you know, you will be recognized as an authority in that area in no time.

You have to inject your personality into the content as well. Don't be dry or dull. Write engaging content that makes the reader think and act upon what you are saying.

Step #2 - Network with other blogs. To survive, you'll need to be friendly and make friends. Find other blogs related to your own blog and comment on them. This is a quick way to get people interested in what you have to say to come to your blog. Leave insightful comments on their blogs and people will follow you to your blog.

You can also contact the blog owner and offer to write a unique blog post for them in exchange for a link back to your own blog. Most blog owners will snap this up in a heartbeat because it's free content for them and it helps establish a relationship. Don't be afraid of networking.

Step #3 - Make your blog sociable. Take advantage of each and every plug-in or add-on that you can use for your blog. Most of these services are free and they are specifically designed to help get your blog content out to a larger audience. Make your blog Diggable, make it del.icio.us, use reddit, sign up with OnlyWire.com and get your content out there.

The more unique and better your content is from other blogs in your niche, the more that your content will be shared. It's just the natural effect of the blogosphere.

When others are trying the latest fad and wondering why it's just not taking off like they were told that it would, you will have separated yourself from the "fad followers". You will have a blog that has fantastic, unique content, is networked, and is sociable and these factors will be what makes you survive beyond the fads.

Tips on How to Use a Blog to Increase Your Sales, Conversions and Dominate Your Niche

    By Jamie Holt

Blogs originally came from the term web blog and were initially an online diary of the author and nothing more, and I have to say that still to this very day most blogs out there are still in that same arena, not looking for profit and purely for personal use. But what I want to show you is how a blog can increase your profits, increase your conversion for subscribers and help you increase your income.

If you don't have a blog on your website, or externally on one of the free providers then I have to be honest and tell you that you are missing a huge chunk of the pie in your niche.

Niche marketers must view blogging as an income producing activity and work it in your favour. Whilst you can just randomly blog about your niche, being more sales focused can bring great rewards for you. Our goal as niche marketers is to provide for the niche exactly what they want for which we receive a commission upon sale.

Now to do this through a blog serves two great purposes:

    1. It displays your knowledge of the niche and allows you to showcase your expertise to your readers which is proof of your reliability, but also a blog is very search engine friendly which means that with regularly updated content you can get more exposure to a greater number of potential customers, not only do you please your current customers but you also get access to others that you may not have had access to without the power of a blog.

    2. A blog allows you to let your personality bleed into your work on a daily basis which helps to build a relationship with your customers, your soul exposed right there for all to see, honest marketers always come out on top and blogging for your customers shows that you are human and reachable.

    Making Money With WordPress

    By Diane Sweeney

There certainly are a lot of different ways that you can make money on the Internet. As a matter of fact, a number of individuals have started earning money in a very unique way, even though they were not familiar with Internet marketing previously.

The way that they are doing this is by using WordPress blogs, possibly one of the easiest ways for you to begin earning money on the Internet in a short period of time. What is it that makes WordPress such a perfect catalyst for earning money? The fact of the matter is, it works in so many different ways that it is sometimes difficult to pin down just a few.

The entire blogging concept, along with the free WordPress software was not necessarily designed in order to make people money on the Internet. Believe it or not, whenever blogging was very young, it was considered taboo to have any advertisements attached to a blog at all.

This has certainly changed in the past several years, however, and it is very common for people to make a decent living, just by running several WordPress blogs. Although it was not designed to earn any money at all, WordPress actually is the perfect environment in which to make it happen.

Even a basic WordPress blog, if it is set up properly is going to be popular within the search engines. One thing that far too many people have a difficult time with is making sure that all the settings are established from the start.

Things such as creating the proper link structure within the blog to pinging your blog to the proper engines is all going to make a difference with how well your blog does in getting free traffic. Missing one of the settings whenever you start writing your blog will make it difficult for you to get the traffic that you desire and it may actually make it very difficult to ever get the traffic to it, even if the settings are changed.

The same is also true with the WordPress theme and a variety of different plug-ins that you can use on your blog. Having the right theme is going to pull the attention to your advertising, something that is important if you want to generate a high click through rate. Using plug-ins is also going to help you in a number of different ways, including formatting your content and a number of different timesaving tools that allow you to focus on your marketing rather than cleaning up your blog on a regular basis.

Is Your Blog Set Up Properly?

    By Diane Sweeney

If you are already using WordPress as your online blogging system, I'm sure that you are familiar with how effective it can be. Even so, many of us are missing a few simple steps that can make all of the difference between us earning a little bit of hobby money with our blog and earning a living. It doesn't matter if you have been writing to your blog for quite some time, making the changes in the settings that are necessary to increase its profitability can make a difference in how much it is earning you as well.

Of course, it is always a good idea to make sure that the blog is set up properly from the start. After all, this will help keep you from having to make any changes that are necessary in order to bring it into compliance. There are several settings that exist in the backend of the blog that make a difference in the linking structure as well as how successfully the blog will be recognized by the search engines. Don't allow these things to chance if you want to earn as much as possible from your blog. Step-by-step guides are available to walk you through the process, make good use of them.

I've seen a lot of blogs lately that just tend to use the default WordPress theme. Although it certainly is possible for you to make some money by having your blog set up this way, you are really only about two minutes away from increasing the profitability of your blog many times over. There are hundreds of different themes that are available for WordPress and almost every one of them is free to download. All you really need to do is upload them and then check one setting in the backend of the blog in order to enable this feature. You may also be able to configure it to a certain extent but make sure that you have some direction before you decide to do this.

Finally, you should be making good use of the add-ons that are available within the WordPress system. I'm talking about stepping outside of the boundaries a little bit and going beyond the Hello Dolly add-on that is available by default. There are plenty of these little scripts that help to automate a lot of our blogging chores, freeing us up to be able to take care of other marketing responsibilities. As long as you are adding the proper add-ons to your blog, you would be surprised with how much more you can accomplish.

How WordPress Themes and Plug-Ins Affect Your Income

    By Diane Sweeney

Almost everybody that is involved in Internet marketing has tried their hand at making money with a blog at some time in their marketing history. Some of them experience great success as a result of using WordPress while others are rather disappointed with how it turns out for them. The fact of the matter is, not all WordPress blogs are created equal and you should make sure that you are developing your blog properly from the start. Although there are some settings that need to be established in the beginning, it is also important that you choose the proper theme and add-ons so that your blog is as profitable as possible. How is this done?

The reason why themes and add-ons affect your income to such a large degree is because they are going to affect how others perceive your blog. Whenever somebody comes on to your blog, they are not necessarily going to be interested in how it looks. Having something that is pleasing on the eyes certainly can go a long way in establishing the popularity of your blog but the content is really what they're looking for. Content is what drives the blogging system and it is also one of the factors that establishes your rankings within the search engines. That doesn't mean, however, that the look and feel of your blog should be overlooked. It just means that you should establish that look by using a theme, not necessarily developing one of your own.

There are hundreds of different themes that are freely available on the Internet for download. Some of them can really be ignored because they are just hobby themes or perhaps ones that were developed by somebody without good design sense. There are others, however, that are quite nice looking and can easily be developed into something that will work well with your site. Choosing the right theme will help to establish a flow to your website and pull people's attention to the advertising subtly. This can increase your income from the moment that you upload the new theme.

Add-ons can also affect your advertising in a number of different ways but they are also a great timesaver. Choosing the right add-on is going to automate a lot of your daily processes. This will help to free your time up and allow you to work on other areas of marketing the blog, not just the day in day out processes of running it.

    By Diane Sweeney

You would be surprised with the number of people who come on to the Internet on a daily basis in order to find out how to make money. We are living in difficult economic times and many of us tend to live from paycheck to paycheck. With the rising price of gas, along with the price of groceries, it can make it very difficult for those same paychecks to stretch as far. It is possible for you to set up a Internet-based business that will supplement your income, even if you have never worked online before. As a matter of fact, you can have a blog up and running tomorrow that will be putting almost instantaneous money into your pocket.

Before you run off and try to figure out what I'm talking about, let me put one word into your head. That word is WordPress, and it is simply the best moneymaking content system that is available on the Internet today. It also has several other things going for it that make it the system of choice for people just starting out as well as those who have been at Internet marketing for quite some time.

First of all, WordPress is a free system and you can run it on your own servers quite easily. As a matter of fact, if you choose the proper server, the entire setup of WordPress to its basic format is going to be automatic. The only thing that you need to worry about from that point is setting up the backend of the blog, something that you should really have a guide to help you with. If you have your blog set up properly, something that really only takes five minutes, it can begin making you money from the first day that you start posting to it.

Secondly, the WordPress blogging system is totally configurable and there are plenty of themes and add-ons which are free and enhance the system for profitability. All you really need to do is know the ones that you should upload and then begin posting your content. It really is that simple.

Having a WordPress blog is the easiest way for you to begin making money on the Internet and to continue making it for quite some time to come. It only takes a few minutes for everything to be set up properly once you understand the basics. Every day that you put off starting your own WordPress blog is another day that you will not be earning money from it.

How a Blog Help Me Quit My Day Job

    By Diane Sweeney

It wasn't all that long ago that I was still working at a 9-to-5 job, barely making ends meet. As a matter of fact, I was almost the poster child for the person that lived paycheck to paycheck. Unfortunately, my paychecks were so small at times that it was difficult to make it stretch until the next one came in. Like most people, I started looking for a way to earn a little bit of extra money and the Internet seemed like the perfect opportunity. After all, I had a little bit of free time in the evening, even though I was limited to a certain extent.

I had heard about how a lot of people were making extra money on the Internet without putting any effort into it at all. Unfortunately, those rumors turned out to be a little bit skewed but the simple fact of the matter is, it is possible to make money on the Internet. You need to understand that doing so is a business, much the same as any other business where you earn money. If you work at your Internet marketing business, you're going to make money. If you just sit back and wait for the money to come to you, you're going to end up disappointed.

Fortunately, I started out on the right foot and the first thing that I did was to put up a WordPress blog on my own domain. It was a little bit of a risk, but to tell you the honest truth, I only spent about $20 in order to get the whole thing done so it wasn't as if I was really putting my neck out on the line. I joined an online tutorial website that helped to walk me through the entire process of setting my WordPress blog up properly from the start. I am really glad that I took the time to do this because I couldn't imagine going in and making all of those changes after I had already been posting information for quite some time.

By teaching me the right way to go, the website that I had joined help me to get traffic to my website on the very first day that I began posting information. This was amazing to me and my first sale came within 24 hours of starting. If you want to make money on the Internet as well, put a little bit of work into getting your WordPress blog set up. Just make sure that you have it set up properly from the start so you can begin making money quickly instead of waiting for it.

A Step-By-Step Guide to Making Money With WordPress

    By Diane Sweeney

Most of us are familiar with the fact that it is possible to make money on the Internet. Unfortunately, far too many people end up discouraged because they go down the wrong path whenever they first get started. Not only can this make them quit prematurely, it may throw them into a cycle of jumping from program to program, never seeing anything to fruition. The fact of the matter is, the answer to their question may be right under their nose but unless somebody pointed out to them, they may simply overlook it.

What I am talking about is using WordPress in order to begin making almost instant money with an online content system. WordPress is the most popular blogging system that is in existence and it is free and easy to set up. As a matter of fact, one proper choice in your hosting system and you will be able to set up a WordPress blog on your domain with a simple click of a button. From that point, all that is really necessary is for you to establish the backend parameters and to upload your free themes and add-ons in order to maximize its profitability.

The first thing that you are going to need to do whenever you are setting up your WordPress blog is to choose your theme. Really, this is one of the more difficult things that you're going to have to do when it comes to making money on the Internet. The setup of the WordPress blog itself is a simple operation and as long as you have the proper guide, you will be able to establish all of the backend settings in just a few minutes. It is important that you do this properly from the start or else your blog may never really work as well has what it should.

There are plenty of themes and add-ons for you to enhance your blog in one way or another. Picking the proper theme, however, is a matter of pulling the attention of the reader to the advertisement subtly. This can dramatically increase your click through rate and the profitability of your blog. Add-ons can also cut down on a lot of the work that is involved with a blog but unless you enjoy manually configuring a database, you should do some research and choose the proper add-ons ahead of time.

All of these things will come together into what will be the easiest money that you will ever make. Once it is set up, all you need to do is add content to the blog and it will do the rest. Most people are surprised with how quickly they begin to earn after their blog is set up. I'm sure that you will enjoy that part of the experience as well.

    I Don't Have Time to Blog - Part 2

    By Darrell Mishler

Ok, maybe the last article helped you decide you actually want to create and maintain a blog. There are several things you don't want your blog to be or to become. Common sense needs to prevail - if you were reading your blog, what would you want to read or read about?

Don't use your blog as a vehicle to demean or otherwise talk bad about your competition. You know the old saying - "you reap also what you sow". Show your expertise through the subject matter of the content of your blog. Talk about things that will be a benefit to your readers.

Don't turn your blog into a catalog, it's ok to talk about your business, but let your customers and blog readers know more than what's on sale or being sold - help them visit your site using your signature or bio.

Don't talk at or down to your readers, your readers will migrate to the best writing as if spoken by you to them. Once again, tell your blog readers what they want to know. If you are in need of subjects, ask them what they would like to know more about.

Don't ignore your readers - they are potential customers, respond to comments. Add feedback to the comments that are left for you. If possible ask for an expansion of what has been asked for. Publish their responses and publish your responses to them. The more interest in your blog, the more readers and customers you will have. It takes time, be patient and build the number of readers over a period of six months to a year.

Bad Text, by that I mean, good grammar, sentence structure, use of punctuation are extremely important to how your readers feel about you as a small business professional. If you can, have another person proof read your posts and content before your publish your blog. If you don't have another person to proof your content, read it out loud to hear the way it sounds. Another way of reviewing your content is to record it into your PC or onto a tape and play it back so you can hear "how it sounds". This little hint will improve your writing tremendously.

As far as this and any other content generated by me, please comment and send me some feed back - let me know what you would like to learn more about or something for me to research. Your input helps me generate blog content that is relevant.

How to Blog For Your Online Business Without Getting the Blogging Blues by Joining a Blogging Forum

    By Connie Ragen Green

Blogging is a way for people to get to know you over a period of time. There are about 80 million blogs on the internet, but most of these have been abandoned and long forgotten within a month or two of being created. When I started blogging, almost three years ago now, I could not understand why someone would take the time to set up a blog, only to let it go after such a short amount of time.

As I continued blogging, I realized that it took more time and effort than I had originally anticipated. After just a couple of months I felt like I had said everything I had to say on the topics I was writing about. I began to post less and less frequently to my blog and soon I dreaded the thought of making even one more post. That's when I decided to get professional help. No, I did not seek out the advice of a psychiatrist or therapist. Instead, I found a blogging mentor program where I could connect with other bloggers and receive guidance from the professional bloggers who were the founders of this mentor program.

Over the next few months I learned more about blogging than I could ever have imagined. I became energized with new ideas and methods for getting readers to my blog and posting on a regular basis. I also connected with the other members of the mentor program and had an opportunity to ask them questions about various aspects of their blog and online business. I could see right away that many of the members were doing extremely well on the internet, and I had the chance to emulate some of their methods.

The best part of this blogging mentor group and forum is the learning process that goes on. We have access to training calls and teleseminars, as well as having our questions answered promptly. This has become the first place I go when I am looking for a joint venture partner, outsourcing recommendations, and information on monetizing my specific niche.

There are so many forums and mentor programs available on the internet that it is difficult to sort out which programs are legitimate and will help you to build a profitable online business. I feel fortunate to have found this one because now I have about three hundred people who are as serious about blogging and incorporating new ideas into their online businesses as I am. I encourage you to make a connection like this and blog your way to online success.

And now I invite you to find out more by visiting http://www.BlogMentorForum.com and get started right away with training and connecting with others who are making money with blogging. Look for me in the forum and introduce yourself.

Blogging Tips For Slow Blogging Growth

    By Chris Braccus

The world is rapidly changing because of the onset of technology. New devices were being invented, newer structural designs were being implemented. Obsolescence or the process of being obsolete is getting shorter each day. An example would be cell phones, the latest model today would be obsolete one year from now. Because of newer models being introduced every six months, the rate of change and turnover is likewise fast.

The same is true for words. Now, the word "wiki" is as common as the word book. Wiki by definition is a website whose content can be edited by the visitors. Another new word is "widget" are those little things on a website that tells time, weather, jokes or stock market reports. And still another new word that is currently making the rounds of the internet is blogging or blog.

By definition the word "blog" is an abridgment of two words, web and log. A blog is a website maintained by an individual containing regular commentaries or opinions on an assortment of subjects from the mundane to the sublime. It is a form of on-line diary where the individual can put anything that he likes or dislikes, what he feels about a situation or on a person among others.

All bloggers or the person who does the blogging want to reach out to as many audience as possible. Bloggers want to be read and heard. They want their opinions and commentaries to be known by people around the world. They want their websites to be visited by as much as many visitors in a day.

But sadly, some blogs are not that popular with people and visitors alike. What could be the reason for this slow and lukewarm acceptance from the targeted people or audience. Listed below are some of the reason for this slow growth. Knowing the reason might give you some blogging tips for you to consider in making your website to be very busy in terms of the number of visitors.

    - Boring Content. Obviously when people do not like what you are talking about or they are not interested at all, they will not attempt to visit the site again or worse they will tell their friends that your website is no good. Try to put your ears on the ground and feel what is popular nowadays. Try to learn what people are like to talk about. For bloggers this is the time to innovate, to be creative and to develop a fresh approach to everything. Do not just copy the success of other blogs. Try to stand out from among the clutter and create a brand that is truly you. Try to figure out who your target market is and from there research on what they like and their interests. This is called niche marketing, where you appeal to a specific target audience. This audience could be men, women, teens, professionals etc.

    - Poor Promotion. Promotional activities are an important aspect for people trying to market their blogs. Promotional activities lets people know that your website exists and they should try visiting it. Your objective here is to gain loyal subscribers thru regular feedback and drawing comments. Promotions could be done thru networking with other websites. These websites can refer their visitors to your site. One thing that you can do is to be active in social networking sites. Social networking sites are a great way to reach a relatively good number of people in a short period of time.

    - Being Inconsistent. One of the many pitfalls of writing a blog is the long lull from being productive in your blogs to writing nothing at all. This could happen because of inconsistency in writing the content of your site. Regular subscribers can easily tell if you are doing your work or not. If they can see that you are inconsistent in this aspect they will not return again to your website. One way to be consistent is to set a specific time in writing your blogs. Be specific and disciplined on your schedule to make your blogs truly worthwhile to read and comment on.

These are the basic blogging tips that you'll need if ever you would start your own blog. Remember, your objective in setting up your website is to attract as many subscribers as possible. Avoiding the above pitfalls can at least bring you to that objective.

Chris Braccus is a great copywriter and stresses on the importance of writing just the correct elements in order to capture the attention of short span readers.

    By Antonio Seegars

Turning your blog into a profitable home business is easily achievable with a little bit of knowledge and work.

But before you get into blogging (or if you already are) you need to stop and think about what your income goals are and how soon you want to reach them. That will determine the level of work that you need to put in. If your looking to make 500-1000 dollars a month then you may only need to work part-time hours. But if you want to make 5000-10000 a month then you may need to work full-time hours.

There are three main ways to make money from blogs, you can decide if you only want to focus on one or all of them. In the beginning I would experiment with them and once you find one that you like stick with it.

    1. Promote Affiliate Products

You can find great products to promote as an affiliate on websites such as Clickbank, Paydatcom, Amazon, and from almost any major retailer that your interested in. A lot of people think that they can only promote money making products as an affiliate but there are a lot of categories that you can get in.

The best way to promote affiliate products in blogs is to start a new blog for each product and write a product review for it. Submit your product review to article directories and link back to your blog. This will provide you with the traffic. After you've written the product review for you blog you can write more articles and submit them to articles directories such as EzineArticles for more traffic. The more articles you have in circulation the more traffic you will get.

    2. AdWords

AdWords are ads that people pay Google to advertise on the internet. If you sign up for a Google AdWords account they will provide you with the best ads to have on your website. And every time somebody clicks on one of your AdWords ads you get paid a commission.

The great thing about using AdWords to make money is that your not selling anything and you can make blogs about anything that you find interesting.

    3. Sell your own product

Selling your own product offers the greatest potential for income on a blog because you don't have to split your income with anybody. So if you find a great product to promote and think that you can make a product that will appeal to the same audience you can create your own product for it and keep all of the profits.

If you use any one of the three ways that I outlined monetize your blog you'll see that making money with blogs isn't as hard as most people make it out to be. You just have to be consistent and keep working and you'll make money.

Take the Blogging Fast-Track - Blog Your Writing Career

    By Angela Booth

Want to build a profitable writing career? You can, when you take the blogging fast-track. Discover how in this article.

Let's start by defining "blog." A blog has often been called an "online journal," which is very misleading. Essentially, a blog is an instant publishing tool, which anyone can use to get their message out across the globe within minutes, via RSS.

OK, another definition - "RSS" means "Really Simple Syndication". All bogs offer RSS feeds, which not only make it easy to subscribe to a blog by clicking the big orange broadcast button, but which also mean that your blog's content is collected by RSS aggregators and syndicated (broadcast) across the Web.

Your First Blog - Just Start Writing

When I recommend blogging, some writers ask me "but what should I blog ABOUT?"

You can blog about anything at all. Blog about your writing career, your dog, your kids, politics, a favorite topic... Just blog whatever's on your mind at the moment.

Don't over-think this. Every day is a new day, and each day you know more about yourself, your writing and the world than you did the day before, so just start writing.

All your writing is a process of discovery, so all writing you do is valuable: your writing teaches you.

How Your Blog Will Build Your Writing Career

I love blogs because blogs open you to the world, and the world talks back.

One writer I know (who shall remain nameless) whined on her blog about the lack of response she got when sending queries to a particular mass market magazine. Now, the lack of response to a query can mean either "forget it!" or that the magazine editor didn't receive your submission.

It turned out that the editor had a Google Alert for the magazine's name, and the writer's blog post popped up in her email Inbox. Indeed, she hadn't received the submission, and she contacted the writer via the writer's blog.

(Tip - this is not the way to win friends and influence them in magazine writing, so resend your submissions BEFORE you complain.)

Another writer blogged about the woeful pay rates at outsourcing sites, and suddenly found herself with several new clients who needed her skills, and paid very well indeed.

Many writers have blogged about their books on their blogs, and have won publishing contracts, so blogging is a great way to get of the slush pile at publishing houses. Writing a great blog can also win you an agent, who may be looking for a writer to write a specific book.

Your blog can fast-track your writing career in many ways, because people are looking for writers, and more and more they look for them on the Web. If you're not blogging, you're missing out on opportunities.
