Using Blogs to Increase Your Sales

By Fransesco Ronnie

There is no doubt that blogging is becoming a big business, but this not simply because of the amount of people out there looking for a place to rant-though that is part of it! The use of blogs is big amongst those in business because it's an effective way to market and it is proven to increase traffic thanks to helping your company's site rise in the rankings of search engines like Google, Yahoo, etc.

Blogs can be used in several ways when it comes to marketing. You should create one of your own; this can be done either on another page on your own website or by enlisting the services of one of the blog hosts out there such as Wordpress or Blogger. Blogs can be created on sites like this for free, though you can purchase the option of better packages and services. Once you have set up your blog, it's time to create! This is often used as a slightly less formal compliment to your site, so rather than filling it with technical jargon and products, you write about things of interest to your customers. Things like articles on helpful topics, interesting facts, industry news; these are all things that would be ideal for a blog. Make sure to use relevant keywords and include several links to your main website or homepage as well.

Another great way to use blogs to increase your sales thanks to upping the amount of traffic you get is to create a link list. This is simply done by contacting bloggers of sites that are somehow related to your line of business and requesting a link exchange. You add a link to their blog on your blog and they do the same for you. This opens you up to traffic from their site-a.k.a. a new audience-while your visitors get to enjoy the helpful links that you have added. See, blogging is not only fun, but quite effective! Get blogging!
