You do need to know that simply starting a blog is not enough. The saying "If you build it they will come" does not apply to the internet. You must take the necessary steps to bring traffic to your blog. There are many mediums that you might use that are very cost effective (free). Article and forum marketing are two excellent ways to bring traffic to your site.
Once you monetize the site with products that you have created, affiliate products, or Adsense you are on the way. Offer a newsletter on your blog and start building your email marketing list. You can ask any successful internet marketer and they will tell you that the real money in the business comes from email marketing. Selling products on your blog is fine to begin with but once you build your customer list it will open up even more free advertising methods.
Once you have established an email list and are publishing a newsletter or ezine you can then approach other internet marketers in closely associated niches and secure Joint Ventures, Co-registration opportunities, and advertisement exchanges. This will grow your list even more.
Blogging is the easiest of all of the internet marketing strategies to get started for the new internet professional. Of course there is more to it than simple starting a blog but you now have the knowledge to get started.
You should also subscribe to every newsletter or ezine that will offer to teach you something. No matter how much you learn there will always be more. If you are not learning something new each and every day in the internet marketing business then you are not trying hard enough.
