Blogging is an easy, inexpensive way for Network Marketers to brand themselves. It allows you to show your expertise by providing high-quality content that will attract readers. If you don't already have a blog, follow these simple steps to create one, and start writing!
1. Register your domain name. What do you want your website's address to be? Think of some names and check to see if they are available. Then pay the small fee to register your domain name.
2. Choose a webhost. You will need to host your blog somewhere. Although you can sign up for a blog that is hosted for you (through wordpress.com, blogger, and others), I recommend hosting it yourself. It looks more professional, and you have complete control over all aspects of it. You will want to find a hosting provider that offers easy installation of your blogging software.
Once you have signed up for a hosting account, you will neeed to point your domain to it by changing the DNS. If you're not sure how to do this, customer service for the hosting company should be able to help you (another reason to choose a good hosting provider).
3. Install WordPress. There are other blogging programs you can use, but WordPress is one of the best--and it's free! Many big name companies use WordPress to host their blogs. It's easily customizable and very user-friendly.
Like I said before, choose a webhost that offers easy installation of WordPress using Fantastico. Just follow the instructions, and you'll be good to go.
4. Start writing! Once you've got WordPress installed, you can start writing. Eventually you will want to play around with the look of your blog, but don't forget that the content is the most important thing. Good content will attract readers and help you brand yourself.
Happy blogging!
