How to Market Your Blog Like a ProBlogger

You can have the "best" blog in the world, but it won't matter much if you don't have anyone to see it.

In order to be successful at marketing, you must have a good product. Having a great product makes marketing it simple. It almost markets itself. As a blogger, your content is your product.

Here's 7 Ways To Market Your Blog:

1. Giving Away a Free Report: Then, contact the top Bloggers in your industry to let them know that you have a really good, cool, and free report available, if they wanted to let their readers know about it. Yaro Starak from Entrepreneur's Journey, talks about this as one of his "traffic rivers". You can read about it in his free eBook, Blog Profits Blueprint.

2. Article Marketing: Article marketing is the art of writing good articles, then getting those articles syndicated all over the internet. See, your articles can go places that your blog post can't. With your articles, you can submit them to article directories, where they are picked up by other publishers and run in their newsletters, ezines, or put on their sites. The sweet part is that every article of yours, that is out there circulating the world wide web, has a link back to your site.

3. Create Original, Evergreen, Valuable Content: As a blogger, your content is being syndicated across the web the minute you post, especially if you use Wordpress. So, creating quality, unique content is marketing your blog. Creating evergreen content, content that holds true years later, is important for the staying-power of your blog. Steve Pavlina, who gets over 1.1 million visitors to his blog a month, contributes most of his traffic to his ability to create good, solid, helpful content.

4. Guest Blogging: John Chow's blog is ranked the #2 Make Money Online Blog by 45n5.com and says, "Doing a guest post on a popular blog is one of the best free ways to give your blog some exposure", and I agree. You are gaining instant access to an already established community and best of all, it's free. Even better than that, you are getting an "endorsement" by the blog owner as to how good your content is.

5. Video Submissions: Video is an absolutely wonderful way to get traffic to your blog. Although we're doing business on the Internet, you're still doing business with humans. People are people, are people, and they love to know that they are truly interacting with a real person. They say pictures tell 1,000 words; well, video tells a "bagillion" (LOL). Jeremy Schoemaker has a case study of a guy going from barely any visitors at all to over 3,500 visitors a day using only one video sharing site.

6. Search Engine Optimization: SEO is the process of getting free traffic from the search engines. As John Reese, known for making 1 million dollars in 1 day online, says on his Income.com blog, this is one of the 4 major ways of getting traffic to your site. Many people really don't understand how to accomplish this. There are two major factors in getting ranked high in the search results: on page optimization and off page optimization.

On page optimization is simply having the keywords that you want to rank for "on the page", usually, in the title, description, and throughout the post, BUT the most important factor is off-page optimization. That is the process of getting links from other people's web sites pointing to yours with the proper anchor text. The more links you have pointing to your site, especially from other sites that are authority sites, the higher you'll rank in the search results for your prized keywords.

7. Social Marketing: Awww...The power of conversation. This is what you have to realize: Pro blogging is a personal conversation between you and one reader. As you "hit the nerves" and tug the heart of that reader, they will spread your story. This is the heart of social marketing...from one conversation to another, doing your best to stay on the lips of as many interested readers and possible.
