So many people will tell you that it is easy to make money with your blog, well I'm not one of them. To make a good amount of money with your blog it takes a lot of hard work and dedication. You can't just throw up ads on your blog and expect to make any type of cash. You have to invest in order to see results.
If your new to blogging my advice would be to start with a free blog and add a few adds, work on your content first, worry about money later. If you blog only for money you will not last. Also do not go into the make money online area of blogging until you have been doing it for at least a year and have actually make money doing it. So many people just make a site and throw up affiliate links for hosting and so on, and write about all of these programs they have joined where they made a whole $20. Don't do this, find a niche you enjoy writing about. I for example write about interior design, shopping and diabetes. Why? Well because I enjoy or am involved with these things.
Your next step is to get the word out about your blog, join forums and comment on other blogs with a link to your blog. Don't worry about Page Rank as it's really meaningless. Worry more about getting back links and traffic. That will get people to your site, not Page Rank.
Once you decide that you like blogging and your ready to stick with it, make the leap to hosting your blog on it's own domain, there are many great deals when it comes to hosting plans, just make sure to keep a good lookout for them. Once you are to this point you are ready to really start adverting your blog. Try ppc, but don't invest too much in it at first, see what works for you blog and what does not. Don't spend more then you can afford to lose either.
Getting paid to blog takes time, it is not an overnight money success unless you have done it already, even then it still takes some time. Blogging is a lot of work, most of the time you want to post a few times a day, every day. Just to get content to your blog and your blog crawled by the search engines early. Eventually you might be able to drop down to once a day or once ever other day, but that also takes a long time. People like new content. You need to be prepared to provide it.
